Modesty philosophy aside, to not be seen has a huge impact on children. For a child to grow up with a mother who is not seen must also have an impact. To be the person who is never seen. Who is made to feel afraid that at any moment someone might sexually abuse them should they "appear" to be less then ridiculously modest. To be treated as less then but expected to be able to control men when they have no power.
Clearly this is what happens when an individual chooses to believe that they are not responsible for themselves and seek our a father figure in some fictious god. It's all kinds of fvcked up.
