If it is being portrayed as a hoax I find humor in it. What was accomplished by this hoax?
A little internet fame. I hear that's real important to some indie filmmakers.

Though I'm sure if you nailed her down on it, she'd come up with some crap like "My intent was to start a conversation."

Did the female student say it was a hoax or a film project?
I don't know that she's said either. I said it was a hoax.

There, I've answered your questions. Think you could answer mine?

To whom were you directing this comment, Eagle?

I was actually mimicking the student (hypothetically) saying it was all a joke because I actually thought you had read something of her saying it was all a hoax or film project.

After I went and googled her name I have found out that it was not a hoax and she is being investigated for the racial incident.

University to Investigate After Video Shows Female Student Confronting Male Student for His Dreadlocks - ABC News

“San Francisco State University promotes the rights of the campus community to engage in free speech, but does not condone behavior that impedes the safety or well-being of others. We are taking the matter seriously and will promptly and thoroughly investigate this incident through applicable University channels, including our campus student conduct procedures," the university said.

I ain't buying it. The production values are too good. Don't mean it isn't a real racial incident (who knows what counts as a "racial incident" under these moronic policies)? What I meant was that I do not believe the clip showed an authentic encounter. I think it was scripted and that all three people involved were acting.

I didn't know that it was your opinion that it was a hoax.

Why not?

What was so cinematic about it? The kid filed a police report. The University released a statement condemning the confrontation and is investigating. The club she is associated with has distanced themselves from this incident. She is not answering questions.

C'mon T... Seriously?

If it was a hoax, and they did file the report, that is a crime in itself.

The production values are too good, and the dreadlocked pinkie is too stereotypical.

What was so cinematic about it?
Video quality, audio quality, and shot framing.

We'll see.

I might even buy that Pinkie with Dreads was not in on it, but if it ain't a hoax, it was a setup.

Why? Why do college dumbasses do anything?

It's not a hoax Ski. Google the incident, plenty of good stuff. This little white male flower child was simply being checked. Not checked like a Canada Ice Hockey check. His white privilege was being checked. It is a new thing on campuses. As one editorial stated in an article...

He has a right to wear locs, but he shouldn't be surprised when he gets checked.

Checking is a form of bullying in the guise of social empowerment. So this woman felt it was her right to bully, grab, and prevent this young hipster's freedom of movement. And from the looks of it she has plenty of support!

The production values are too good, and the dreadlocked pinkie is too stereotypical.

Give me a break. It was shot from a phone. Cripes.

We'll see.

Oh she was checking him alright. She just wasn't expecting to be caught on camera. She targeted the little white kid who did not look threatening to check his white privilege.

(I wonder when I'll get THAT retort.)

She also battered him. She's free to say anything she wants to him (a few, limited exceptions) but the battery was a tort and a crime. He should at least swear out a complaint. Can't really expect him to hire a lawyer for such a minor battery,.

He did file a complaint but will not press charges. I am sure he just wanted it on record.

Free to say whatever she wants I am sure. And I bet she will even get away with the battery. I wonder what would have happened if the roles were reversed.

Wouldn't even think of trying to predict, what with crazy college rules and conduct regulations these days.

You got to love how she is pushing, grabbing, and barring his way, and then states that if HE puts HIS hands on HER that HE will learn.

Being black don't immunize her from being stupid.

If I uploaded a video of every time I've been pushed, pulled, grabbed, prodded, or accosted by a pinkie (usually but not always in a uniform) for my race, there wouldn't be no space on the internet for our witty banter.

Nice to see our non-white brothers and sisters jumping on the stupid wagon.

Come to think of it... I would take up a lot of bandwidth if I uploaded every time I was grabbed by a "pinkie".

And I'm not crying victim!
