Generally speaking the Wermacht soldiers would surrender honourably. It was the SS units the Allied soldiers had to be careful of.This is not about transcripts it is really about two sides from time to time in a war zone
where any movement can constitute deadly action.
My father told me years ago when they were in Germany mopping up in WWII that if they
came across enemy that were surrendering they had to be very careful and if it was a
group of older guys they were more relaxed.
One of my favourite stories was when US troops reached Cherbourg. Before a shot was fired the American commander demanded the surrender of the German forces within the fortress. The German commander stepped out and announced that they would surrender but if the Americans would be so kind as to fire a few rounds at the fortress then they could surrender in good conscience having at least been fired upon. The Americans agreed, obliged him with a few tank rounds at the fortress walls and out came the Germans, suitcases and such all packed up and ready to go like they were going on vacation.
Of course being good soldiers, they had wrecked the harbor rendering it useless to the Allies when they saw the Americans approaching the city with nothing between them and Cherbourg to stop them.
