Christiane Amanpour, CNN's chief international correspondent, described Hollande's remarks Saturday as "a language of war."

But David Schanzer, director of the Triangle Center on Terrorism and Homeland Security and a professor of public policy at Duke University, said unilateral action by France against ISIS in Iraq or Syria is unlikely.

Instead, Schanzer said via email, France may increase its activity and visibility as part of the international coalition against ISIS.

Yes, the massacre will increase calls for more vigorous military action than the coalition has mustered to date, Schanzer said.

"But despite the horrific attacks, the reasons against a large-scale land invasion by U.S. and NATO forces against ISIS in Iraq and Syria remain," he said.

"Such an invasion will deepen the extremist narrative of clash of civilization between the West and Muslims, will insert our militaries into a deep, nasty and unwinnable civil war, and the invading force will eventually be responsible for reconstructing a semblance of order and governance in (a) chaotic region infected with sectarian divisions."

It looks as though Britain, France, the US, Russia, Iran and some other countries are going to build a military coalition to fight ISIS. This is definitely what needs to happen. We need to put boots on the ground and take the fight to them properly.

It's a disturbing read. And it's right. We need actual troops on the ground, not largely ineffective air strikes.

People keep forgetting the allies that ISIS have all over the world, in places like Africa (Boko Haram). And now they are flooding into Europe pretending to be Syrian "refugees" and the gullible, naive PC Lefties who now rule our Western European countries believe they are genuine Syrian "refugees" - and they ignored warnings from people like me who said these Syrian "refugees" are nothing of the sort. So, thanks to the PC groupthink of our Left-Wing ruling Establishment, ISIS now have a foothold in Europe (it's just a shame our rulers didn't listen to the likes of Ukip).

So the time has really come now for there to be a war - a proper, global war with troops and planes and tanks and ships - to defeat ISIS (the Nazi Party of the 2010s) and their allies around the world. And if that means WWIII then so be it. If that what it takes to defeat the most evil and barbaric regime since the Nazi Party, bring it on.

If Justin persists with bringing 25,000 refugees in, in one fell swoop, the problems that will evolve here will make Paris seem like a kid's spat in the sandbox! For one thing, there's a huge shortage of doctors and nurses here right now, so how are they to handle another 25 thousand? The entire charade is insanity! How many terrorists will we be welcoming?

Canada has lots of Muslims already and even non Musllm 'old stock Canadians' turning to Islam.

As I have stated in one of your many posts on this subject I would agree to send money to a Country like Germany to help them deal with the issue and keep them over there.

But at the end of the day let's not forget to ask, why are these people refugees in the first place? What has driven them from their Country?

Charlie Hebdo responds to the second attack on Paris in less than a yea

Friends from the whole world, thank you for #prayforParis, but we don't need more religion! Our faith goes to music! Kissing! Life! Champagne and joy! #Parisisaboutlife

Hysteria has taken over the general population. Nobody is looking at this objectively. People like Boomer are spreading lies and disinformation and fanning the flames of hatred. The refugees were running away from the carnage at home. Who was committing that carnage?

Got a CNN update on the phone that one of the a-s-s-wipes had Syrian passport and was processed as a refugee in Greece in October. Not all refugees are terrorists but some terrorists are posing as refugees. Only a fool would think ISIS would play be a set of rules.

and only a shiny idiot would think that letting in 25k 'refugess' and not vetting them is a sunny idea.

Woe! Hold on. Am I misinformed? I could have sworn these 25,000 were already in the system and merely awaiting transportation. Having already been vetted.

Am I incorrect in believing so?

Trudeau wants to skip that step to speed up the process. That is what was slowing up the process under Harper. I have heard conflicting reports that they will vet them AFTER they are here. But not sure what they do when one proves to be unworthy. I can't see Justin wanting the publicity of deporting one.

Northern Ontario,
You believe something read on a Cliffy meme? You must be particularly gullible today.
Naah......I just like to poke him and others like him, but I like to check up on things first...
Oh.... by the way that wasn't a meme, It was one of his own thoughts, that he figured would have more weight if attributed to a renowned writer, which is why I asked him for a link.

America: Your Solidarity with Paris is Embarrassingly Misguided

Without question, I mourn for Paris’ recent victims and their families — and I would never claim knowledgeable firsthand experience of the same. But I refuse — despite my partial French heritage — to cloak myself in nationalism of any stripe or star, particularly not now. Because, besides victims in Paris, an incomprehensibly astronomic number of people have been grieving loss of the highest order for some time — in places whose names roll off our tongues as if it’s accepted that violence simply happens there — and a majority likely couldn’t guess the colors on these victims’ flags.
You see, I also mourn for those killed mere hours before Paris crumbled into chaos, in strikingly similar attacks in Beirut.
I mourn the hundreds of thousands displaced or killed in Syria, no matter their pledged allegiance. No matter their professed religion. No matter.
I mourn for the millions killed in ongoing and renewed, illegal United States’ aggression in Iraq — and those facing a torturous demise from exposure to depleted uranium employed in violation of international and humanitarian law — for reasons far closer to ‘American’ and corporate hegemony than compassionate principle.
I mourn the untold number killed in the United States’ insidious — and seemingly permanent — war in Afghanistan. And the countless children there who know nothing of peace, much less the feeling of safety it brings. And patients and staff recently targeted, bombed, and then shot while fleeing the Médecins Sans Frontières hospital in Kunduz — and the irony of that humanitarian organization’s French roots.
I mourn those forced into human slavery or sex trafficking in Malaysia; and curse the scant hope they escape, now that the massive TPP has garnered U.S. government’s tacit approval of the abhorrence that is human trade.

Funny, those people are the very people I was looking to defend, aid, protect, since first learning of ISIL. Because it wasn't Main St Canada types being slaughtered in the video's that made me want to end ISIL's reign of terror and butchery.

I was mocked by people like Flossy and you from the get go. Cuz ladders.
