Considering how little I value your opinon, I'm sure you will understand if I don't
What?

So, no-one really has a valid argument for carrying weaponry without specific purpose.

Sorry, Boomper, it looks like your idea is a dead calf.

Lotsa people have the sidearm strapped to their leg in Arizona. Sometimes ,,considering the popularity of guns in the wild wild west I think it's a cosmetic thing. Like,,,hey,,,look at me. I'm no one to mess with. I've mixed emotions on guns. If I still had little ones and a wife to protect from parasites which, there are plenty of,,I'd probably have a pistol myself. Yet I've lost a nephew,,,murdered with a gun,,,and a niece,,who took her own life with a gun. Considering that my perspective could hardly be considered un biased. My only thought these days is, if you live by the sword, you die by the sword. But those are words from someone much more in tune than I. I hate guns.

That is sad. Sorry to hear that, Ludlow.
I had a friend who was accidentally shot by her bf as a teen. She ended up a paraplegic as a result. A wonderful woman, she was. She is gone now due to infection.
Firearms are just tools, though, regardless that not everyone can treat or handle a tool properly.

It is a bit of an oddity that Hollywood has painted this weird picture of the "wild, wild west" and how many fools think it is not a painting, but a photograph. And the "wild, wild west was not a significantly long period in history even.

hehe "Oh, look at me! I am a Squint Eastwood and I am tough so do not mess with me!"

Northern Ontario,
I've posted this before .... during spring or summer leaving a car unlocked on the back roads is asking to have stuff missing....I've seen cars with wheels missing.
But during hunting season, nobody locks their car, truck or hunting camp.....why because everybody that's in the bush is quite probably armed!
It makes for a polite society...People talk to each other that probably wouldn't even acknowledge each other in town....everyone is equal,

I'm not anti-gun, but we do not need carry permits in this country for citizens. Stupid stupid stupid.

Thats pretty much my position. And I live five blocks from where the shooting in Ottawa happened last year. I've never felt the need or desire to care any sort of weapon for defense.

Also, given who is in power its a guarantee that this has 0 chance of happening for at least 4 years. The Conservatives had 9 years in power and gun registry aside never touched the issue. They arent likely to anytime soon even if they win the next election.

Yet I've lost a nephew,,,murdered with a gun,,,and a niece,,who took her own life with a gun.

My step sister went that way. Also in Arizona. Her boyfriend left it unsecured and loaded and knew she wasnt exactly stable. The whole thing was easily preventable.

Ron White accurately captures why hunting bores me as well. There's no challenge in it

Most people I know are bad hunters. Without a bow or a rifle, they would enter the woods hungry and come out hungrier

Any idiot can shoot game. I prefer spending my time doing something challenging. Shooting par on a golf course is far more challenging

Defence against whom? We can (and sometimes do) leave our house unlocked around here. You guys must live in a really screwed up place that you have to "carry" for self defence. I can understand why an urban American needs to do things like that but there is nowhere in Canada (at all) where it is necessary to carry firearms to defend herself against other humans. I suppose though, if enough nutbars start "carrying" the rest of us will have to follow to defend ourselves against the freedom-to-carry wankers. That is probably how the Americans got to the sorry state that they are at.
