I hear you and I think there are several others on here who are like minded.

yes, that's right, and how would we feel if we also spouted that hateful nonsense, jumping ahead of the
facts, and 'then' find out he wasn't involved, or if he was involved, not charged, so it is right to
follow the facts.

HAMBURG, N.Y. - Hamburg Police Chief Gregory Wickett confirms his department has launched an investigation into Chicago Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane over an alleged incident at the player's home last weekend.
Without revealing the nature of the investigation, Wickett said Friday that police are still gathering information and awaiting forensic tests.
Wickett issued the brief statement outside police headquarters on Friday morning and declined to take questions.
Word of the investigation first surfaced Thursday, which prompted several responses from the NHL, Blackhawks and Kane's agent Pat Brisson. The investigation began on Sunday night, when several plainclothes officers searched the grounds around and the inside of Kane's off-season Hamburg home, which overlooks Lake Erie.
Buffalo attorney Paul Cambria, who has represented Kane in the past, declined comment in a text to The Associated Press on Friday morning.

yes, we are all aware of the investigation, many different stories, the media is crawling around this story
with all tenticles out, to grab whatever they can find out, but it still remains an investigation, just
as it was from the getgo, till charges are laid against kane or anyone else, there is nothing to accuse
him of, we don't know the story of what happened at all.

if he is charged with 'something', then there will be a story.

if anyone on this board actually knows what happened at kane's seasonal home, please tell all, but you
would have been there, naw, don't think so.

Blackhawks' Kane hires lawyer as police investigate alleged 'incident' at his house
John Wawrow, The Associated Press
First posted: Saturday, August 08, 2015 02:19 PM EDT | Updated: Saturday, August 08, 2015 08:40 PM EDT
BUFFALO - BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane has hired an attorney and called off a public display of the Stanley Cup on Saturday because he is under police investigation over something that may have happened at his home last weekend.

Without providing details, lawyer Paul Cambria confirmed in a text message to The Associated Press that he has been hired to represent Kane. Cambria represented Kane in 2009, when he pleaded guilty to a noncriminal charge of disorderly conduct after being accused of assaulting a Buffalo cab driver over 20 cents.
Cambria is a high-profile attorney who specializes in First Amendment issues. He has represented Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and music artists Marilyn Manson and DMX.
MORE COVERAGE:
The developments come a day after Hamburg police confirmed Kane is under investigation for an "incident that allegedly occurred" at the player's off-season home in suburban Buffalo. Hamburg Police Chief Gregory Wickett did not discuss the nature of the investigation. He said police are gathering information and awaiting forensic tests.

In the meantime, Blackhawks spokesman Brandon Faber said Kane would spend the day with the Stanley Cup in Buffalo, but would do so with in private with his family and friends. That's a switch after Kane paraded the trophy around his hometown the previous two times he helped the Blackhawks win the title in 2010 and '13.
Kane cancelled a night-time private party scheduled to be hold at a popular rooftop bar in downtown Buffalo.
Just after 5 p.m., bar staff loaded bags of buns and numerous large tin bins of food into the back of a pickup truck and transported them to Kane's home where the party took place instead. The pickup truck was allowed in through the front gates, and numerous cars were spotted parked on the lawn of the recently built home on the shore of Lake Erie.
A neighbour said someone posted a few signs -- one of which she said read: "I wouldn't kiss the Cup" -- across the street from Kane's home. Those signs, however, were taken down by evening, and only their taped remnants remained.
Other events were cancelled altogether once the police investigation became public Thursday.
Tentative plans called for Kane to bring the Cup to Buffalo Women's and Children's Hospital for what was supposed to be a private visit. He was also scheduled to bring the trophy to his favourite pizza place not far from where he grew up in south Buffalo.
Though there was no sign of Kane, some fans were still hoping he might pop up with the Cup at some of his familiar spots.
A handful of youngsters in Blackhawks shirts and hats camped out in front of pizza restaurant, where autographed Kane jerseys hang on the walls and a Blackhawks' flag flew from a pole in the parking lot. Three off-duty Buffalo police officers were patrolling the parking lot before leaving early in the afternoon.
In Hamburg, several cars slowed or stopped to peek into the front yard of Kane's home overlooking Lake Erie. A police officer was parked in a black and white SUV across the street.
Kane, who wears No. 88, picked Saturday to host the Cup because it is the eighth day of the eighth month.
Also Saturday, Chicago coach Joel Quenneville attended Blackhawks Day at Arlington Park, but was not made available to the media. Quenneville signed autographs for about an hour.
There were several Kane jerseys and shirts in the crowd at the racetrack, and fans stopped throughout the day to have their picture taken in front of a Kane banner at the facility.

Patrick Kane's alleged rape victim reportedly has bite marks, leg scratch: Source
POSTMEDIA NETWORK
First posted: Sunday, August 09, 2015 05:48 PM EDT | Updated: Sunday, August 09, 2015 06:09 PM EDT
Patrick Kane's accuser had bite marks on her shoulders and a scratch on her leg, a source with knowledge of the rape investigation involving the NHLer reportedly told the Buffalo News.
The News detailed the alleged victim's account of what she claims happened inside the Chicago Blackhawks star's Town of Hamburg (N.Y.) home last Sunday.
According to the source, the woman alleges Kane, 26, invited her and a friend back to his home after meeting at a downtown Buffalo bar last weekend. Once there, the accuser claims Kane followed her into a room before allegedly overpowering her and raping her, the source told the News.
The woman reportedly called relatives immediately after the alleged incident. She attended a hospital and a rape kit was conducted.
The owner of SkyBar, where Kane spent a portion of Saturday night, confirmed to the News that he saw a woman paying close attention to the NHLer prior to the incident, which allegedly occurred around 4 a.m. Sunday morning.
As a result of the investigation, Kane has hired lawyer Paul Cambria to represent him, according to the Associated Press. Cambria worked with Kane after the three-time Stanley Cup-winner was accused of assaulting a Buffalo taxi driver in 2009.
In a statement released late last week, the Blackhawks confirmed they are monitoring the situation: “We are aware of the matter and are in the process of gathering information. It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

If Kane was an NFL player the media and league would've hung him by now. The Commish would have already suspended him indefinitely, even if to just keep the wolves away from his office. The media would be comparing Kane to Ray Rice, women's groups would be marching outside of Roger Goodell's office. How does the NHL and Gary Bettman get off so lightly?

I think the nfl should keep their noses out of these incidents until person is charged with a crime.

should monitor situation just as nhl is doing and wait for substancial information and a charge.

and we all should wait as well.

a person shouldn't be crucified from stories, even the so-called story from a woman, that is a reporter's
story, nothing from authorities.

I like to be fair to everyone, this is a serious matter.

if the hockey league was playing now, then the nhl, if they wish could
suspend him till all of this either blows over, or he is charged, and found
guilty or not, such as they did in the voynov case.
that is their preogative, as it is their league, just as your company might
tell you to take a leave of absence under same scenario.

companies just don't want the hassle of the attention on their business,
and its all about their business, they don't have anyone's good name in
mind, it is all about them, and their reputation.

WATCH: NHLers Versteeg, Demers perform interpretive dance at Devin Setoguchi's wedding

A few months ago, the hockey world was blessed with The Dancing Goalie — minor-leaguer Andrew Loewen teaming up with cheerleaders to perform a rinkside rendition of the so-called "wobble" dance.
Footage of the dance went viral, granting Loewen, a goalie who has appeared in seven ECHL games, his 15 minutes of fame.
Now, a video documenting more recognizable hockey players strutting their stuff has made its way online for the Internet to devour.
Nearly two and a half minutes of interpretative dancing from Chicago Blackhawks forward Kris Versteeg and Dallas Stars defenceman Jason Demers — along with two unidentified pals — was uploaded to YouTube this past weekend.
The quartet is shown serenading Devin Setoguchi, an NHL free agent who last played for the Calgary Flames, and his new wife, during their wedding reception.
Versteeg, strips down to a yellow leotard and mask, offers the crowd fair warning moments before the foursome tears up the dance floor.
“Wait, we're gunna change it up here,” he says. “We're gunna change it up. Let's change it up here, boys.”
To the amusement of at least 100 wedding guests, the dancing men perform a well-coordinated jig with pop singer Sia's hit song 'Cheerleader' blaring from the speakers.
In case you're wondering about connections: Setoguchi and Versteeg played hockey together growing up in Alberta, while Setoguchi and Demers were teammates with the San Jose Sharks.

I'm of the mind that people who are charged with something should be considered innocent until proven guilty with the possible exception of an alleged axe murderer who was found with the axe in his hand and a couple of corpses nearby. Once a person's reputation is destroyed it's lost for years even in the cases where he's found later to be completely innocent the thoughts still linger.

Blackhawks' Kane dropped from NHL 16 video game cover amid rape investigation
John Wawrow, The Associated Press

EA Sports is dropping Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane from promoting its NHL 16 video game because he is under police investigation.
The popular video game company announced its decision on its Twitter account Wednesday.
EA Sports says Kane will no longer be a spokesman for NHL 16, nor appear on the game's cover as previously planned.
Kane was to appear on the cover alongside Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews.
Kane's lawyer, Paul Cambria, and agent, Pat Brisson, did not return messages seeking comment.
EA Sports' decision comes less than a week after Hamburg police announced Kane is under investigation for something that may have happened at Kane's home outside Buffalo on Aug. 2.

yep, those things will and are going to happen, its all about the sales of the videos and whatever
else might be for sale.

I haven't a clue about this Patrick kane investigation, but one thing in that article came to my
attention 'something that may have happened at Patrick kanes residence'.

so that is the ongoing story, no one but the authorities are up to date on actually what happened, and it seems they don't know 'yet'.

If my oilers win the cup this year, the beers are on me folks

who knows, crazier things have happened, but me thinks your bank balance is safe, at least
for this year, but their time is coming, lets see how their defense is this season, that is
the key for them, they seem to have all the other problems sorted out, management, coaching, etc.,
not sure how Talbot will play, he isn't a number one yet, so this season will tell the story
for him as a starter.

Kane's alleged rape victim wouldn't lie: Co-worker
No charges have been laid against three-time Cup champ
POSTMEDIA NETWORK

The alleged victim in the Patrick Kane rape investigation went to the NHL superstar's home earlier this month as simply a favour for a friend, according to three anonymous sources quoted in a report by The Buffalo News.
The newspaper, whose sources include a law enforcement official, reported on Wednesday that it wasn't the alleged victim's idea to leave a local nightclub for Kane's house where the alleged rape may have taken place.
Instead, according to a News source, the alleged victim's friend “really wanted to go to Kane's house, and she (the alleged victim) didn't want her friend to go there alone” in the early morning hours of Aug. 2.
Kane, who in June won his third Stanley Cup in six years with the Chicago Blackhawks, has not made a public statement on the matter. Saturday, his designated day with the Cup, was spent modestly as opposed to a previously planned public celebration cancelled in the wake of the scandal.
“At this time, at this stage, I have no comment on any aspect of this case,” Kane's lawyer, Paul J. Cambria Jr., told The News Wednesday in response to questions about the newspaper's latest story.
No charges have been laid.
The News claims it talked with four friends and co-workers of the alleged victim this week. They all spoke highly of the alleged victim and came to her defence after the owner of the nightclub, SkyBar, told the News he saw a woman getting cozy with Kane on the night of the alleged rape.
“She’s a really nice girl, and it made me sick to see (SkyBar owner Mark) Croce make her look like she was some kind of gold digger, that she was out looking to pick up Pat Kane,” one of the co-workers said, according to The News.
“She does not strike me like the kind of person who would make up a story about being raped. Not at all,” the co-worker added.
In a story published Sunday, The News reported the accuser claims Kane followed her into a room before overpowering her and raping her, according to a source.
The woman reportedly called relatives immediately after the alleged incident. She attended a hospital and a rape kit was conducted.
Croce confirmed to The News that he saw a woman paying close attention to the NHLer prior to the incident, which allegedly occurred around 4 a.m.
Also on Wednesday, EA Sports dropped Kane from the cover of NHL 16 video game.
In a statement released late last week, the Blackhawks confirmed they are monitoring Kane's situation: “We are aware of the matter and are in the process of gathering information. It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

its just more people talking about people, doesn't matter what kane's friends or the alleged victims friends say about this, the friend is hitting back at the bartender for what he said, all this does is start
a soap opera.

I'm not buying into anything either sides friends say, I'm waiting for charges or no charges, anybody
can say anything in support of anyone, don't have a clue if anyone is lieing or not.

these stories are interesting and if one wants to make a judgement from such a story, go for it, not me.

he will be charged if authorities find something substantial to charge him with, simple.

Al Arbour, 82, RIP:

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/hockey/lupica-al-arbour-isles-ny-greatest-teams-article-1.2340699

The Islanders go to Brooklyn next season and there is no next season for old Nassau Coliseum, which will be torn down and replaced by something smaller one of these days.

So all that is left in that corner of Long Island are memories, memories of what Dr. J was like when he was young and playing for the Nets of the ABA, and then later of Al Arbour’s Islanders, one of the greatest teams with “New York” in its name we have ever had and will ever have.

Joe Torre’s Yankees once won four World Series in five years, and when you look back, they weren’t all that far away from winning five or six Series in a row. Before that there were the amazing Yankee teams from 1949 to 1953, doing something no baseball team before or since has ever done, winning five Series in a row, when DiMaggio was old, and later when Mantle was young.

But later, much later, out there off Hempstead Turnpike, came the Islanders of Arbour and a brilliant general manager named Bill Torrey, and Potvin and Smith and Chico, the Islanders who got Ken Morrow after he had played on the Miracle on Ice team in Lake Placid in 1980, the Islanders of Gillies and Bossy and a cool gent named Bobby Bourne and a loud, famous overtime goal like Bobby Nystrom’s one time.

Al Arbour’s Islanders: Who won four Stanley Cups in a row and took their place with the best hockey teams of all time.

A humble man and true giant of NY sports. NEVER to be forgotten.

yes, I remember all of those years for the islanders, but the memories and all of the pictures

and uniforms in the rafters, etc etc., will go with them to Brooklyn, and all they leave behind

is an old broken down building.

I will be happy to have a team to cheer for that plays out of Brooklyn, as I still miss the

Brooklyn dodgers, which was my favourite team, long long ago.

I hope Brooklyn gives them a big welcome and treats them right.

no, he won't be forgotton, none of them will be forgotton.......

a sad day
