Funny how the guy was hated by guys like Flosster, so much so, they were literally frothing at the mouth with saltiness.

Get rid of the economists and lawyers in gvt and you'll likely see a more straight-forward approach to gvt.

Some day, we might get an accountant in as a PM... I would love to see how that unfolds

No, in this day and age, a good lawyer is the way to go.

We are living in times where we need to toughen financial regulations and focus on expanding social freedoms.

Northern Ontario,
With all these "doom and gloom" threads coming from Flossy,.....

Might I suggest an avatar change?

There was also “real concern,” says the official, that the Liberals were walking into a Stephen Harper trap if they joined the NDP in opposing the bill. At the time, there was huge support across the country for the security legislation and some Liberals feared Mr. Harper would call a snap election and then portray himself and his party as the champions of security.

Looks like the Liberals were screwed either way. Maybe they should have just voted on principle. They need to have principles first, but it's never too late, is it?

Politicians in general aren't known for having principles. The left though seems to have the consistency of warm jello when it comes to them though.

Yup and some who might support Tories at times as well. Any party that supported
C-51 lost my vote automatically and dumped me into the Green or Orange camp
like it or not. I can't vote green they are worse than what we have and Orange is
unknown from a governance standpoint. However Mulcair has some experience as
a Liberal Cabinet Minister in Quebec. The Quebec Liberals are a collection of all
things Federal and not specifically Liberal much like the BC Liberals who are the old
Socred coalition.
I have pretty much decided where to park my vote in the anyone but Harper column
and this vote will go to Mulcair in fact I understand many family members are going
to vote Orange as well and some of them work in oil in Alberta.
It is time to demonstrate to the two grand old parties they don't own the country anymore.

Mulclair is a French Citizen. Anyone voting for the NDP will be voting for a foreign National to lead our government.
