Note: the program only provides for 50% of the costs for all government money so you can't "stack" this money with other government funds. This is the same conditions that local governments are following.

While the timing is interesting, I am not sure that WD (the agency that is administering this program) did not just roll this out as a matter of course. They have another program called "WINN" which was $150 million going into business innovation that has been going for over a year.
These announcements get the communities engaged in community infrastructure projects. I think that is a good thing.
