Naah...... It's just about some peoples feelings (about 2.4 percent of the population) are more important.........
and 9 yr olds need to know this.
All things that can be handled in the home when the kids are old enough. but, of course, the nanny state thinks otherwise.
What it looks like to me, is that people like you, have an unhealthy predilection for butting into other peoples lives.

go out. Sex ed is for the best in the long run including gender orientation and a
level of understanding and empathy for others.

You want to quote, or just list, those in here that are trying to "stop kids from having sex"?
Approximately 10% of Ontarians are left handed......so here's the deal.....to accommodate that ten percent, in case they want to become musicians, let's make all instruments coming into Ontario...left handed, same with all tools...

Yes. Like I said, they need to learn these things before they become sexually active. You teach safe sex to 14 year olds and you might be too late for some. Exploitation and abuse can happen to a child at any age. And children younger than 9 can have questions about gender identity and sexuality.
Sex education should be taught by experts and professionals. Bigoted and ignorant parents will only perpetuate bigotry and ignorance. They socialize their children into lifelong bigotry. They are the primary source of fear and depression for queer or transgender children. Sometimes they are the sexual abusers themselves. Your faith in parents ability to teach their children safe and healthy attitudes towards sex has been tested for thousands of years. It's failed.

Don't be ridiculous. We should treat it like driving. Don't teach them how until after you give them their licenses. And then leave it up to the parents.
Allow me. . . no, she's NOT saying all parents are bigoted and ignorant. She's saying enough of them are that children need to be taught by an expert, detached source.
Matter of fact, even parents who aren't bigoted and ignorant can still be wrong.
