During the Klein years, a lot of effort was put into diversification. If the oil patch took a hit like this 30 years ago, we definitely wouldn't see a growth in our economy.

So what you are saying is that a narrow focus on oil is bad for the economy?

Also, I figured that weasel was lying, but I naively believe the Cons sometimes.

That's funny.

When I mention this, especially in lieu of fossil fuel subsidies, the Cons don't want to admit the truth.

I love my subsidies.... Contact Mr Wynne cause I want more.

PS - How's that reversal in Dutch Disease treating the mfg sector?

You seem ever so quite about that these days, when not so long ago, it was the bane of the nation

That relationship only holds true while the dollar is up because of increased demand in the resource sector.

Obviously the demand isn't as high anymore lol

Nonsense. You were the one that was going on about the petro dollar and how the high value of the CAD hurt the mfg and export sectors and if only we had a lower dollar, theses other sectors would thrive

The CAD has lost 20% of it's value for an extended period of time... Where are the big numbers for export and mfg?

That's half the jobs lost that they were projecting for end year already.

The normal Spring lay offs have you excited? Will you go limp when the hiring spree happens in April when it drys and lay offs are rehired and sh-tloads more are hired as new projects start?

Because spring break up works like clock work this is also the time of years that hundreds of thousands of apprentices do 8 weeks of trade school.
