Canucks have some tough games ahead. Two against Los Angeles. Of the teams left in the race Calgary probably has the best schedule. It's still anyone's to win and could go right to the wire.

calgary is still away on that 14 day road trip, they play ottawa today, then i guess they come home,
so they will be pretty wiped for a few days.

Naslund?

Dunno - am taking a wild guess

I don't recall Naslund doing it, actually I don't think it's been done but Safeway keeps advertising every game that if any Canuck scores 5 goals a customer they've drawn could win $1 million. I think they should be told to shove it, it's virtually total Bullsh*t. I just wasn't 100% sure!

Canucks hanging in there with a one goal lead at the end of the 2nd. Canucks are being outshot, but if the shots are crooked what's the point? I think Lack is just too sharp for Anaheim tonight! :)

don't remember any

that contest is a joke, and they Also say, 'may' win a million dollars, so what does that mean.

there will probAbly be some 'lack crashing' in the 3rd, hope he survives the onslaught.
i think canucks need about 7 shots in the 3rd to match total shots on anaheim last time canucks played them.

Pretty lacklustre game until half way through the third- then the fans got their money's worth. Canucks 2 Ducks 1. Stanley Cup here we come! :)

.

I think there's probably only been a couple of 5 goal games in the entire N.H.L. Gretzky I think and possibly Darrel Sittler. Yep, that contest is definitely bogus. They shouldn't be able to get away with that sh*t!

This may help::roll:

List of players with five or more goals in an NHL game - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Actually, there have been dozens of players who scored five goals in a game.

canucks tried sitting on that 1-0 lead, that is why the game seemed lack lustre, unless you know the
strategy, teams don't have to play to entertain anyone, they have to play to win, when it was tied,
then they changed total strategy, and played to score. they were being intimidated
on the ice by anaheim, staying in the game and grinding out the win was great.

canucks were getting outshot from the drop of the puck, got the goal, and continueing getting outshot,
anaheim were the better team, (1st overall in the NHL), loved the big hit on kesler by kassian, then
when kesler tried to retaliate by hitting tanev , kesler got the worst of it, that was sweet.

Looking at the schedule I think with any luck at all the Canucks SHOULD win the next four games, although I see one as doubtful.

That's amazing, I take back what I said as it's definitely within the realm of possibility. Guess I wasn't paying close attention. :)

To be completely honest, I thought there might have been two or three players who scored five in a game.....there was about forty. Both goalies and goalie equipment have gotten better over the years so it is going to get harder. Was Gordie Howe on that list?

Nope, but Sid Howe (no relation of Gordie) who also played for Detroit at the same time did achieve that accomplishment. Lots of Oilers during the late 80s. Marian Gaborik for Minnesota.

Actually the Canucks have played pretty much as well as L.A. - Jonathon Quick is most of the difference. Canucks have never done well against L.A. That is the one team they don't want to meet in the playoffs or it's all over. I just turned the T.V. over to the little woman.

dorset should be smacked side of the head for that stupid penalty he took, caused a goal, very selfish.
just couldn't stand the thought of 'not' slashing the other player, after a shoving match at the
benches.

as soon as l.a. got the two goals, then they used their masterful defensive gAme to put the crowd to
sleep and check check check, and they are so big, and so much more experienced than many of the
canucks.

no jlm its not just quick at all, but when he was tested he made the saves, nothing out of this world,
just solid, but it wasn't quick who won this game for l.a. at all.

l.a. have always been a very talented team on the 'defense', they don't win games by much, usually
one or two goals, but they keep their opposition from scoring , and quick, if he has to, will do
the rest, canucks had to go on the offense to catch up, and l.a. just checked the stuffing out of
the canucks.

as they explained during the break, linden vey made a very bad line change, left his team short handed
long enough for that 2nd goal, he will learn, just as they said, but it was a poor choice.

just to call the cAnucks pitiful is pitiful, just shows that he isn't really watching the whole
game at all, and can't seem to see just what l.a. was doing after they got that 2 goal lead.

the 3rd goal was a turnover by hamhuis, i felt bad for him as he had a very solid game, thought
sbisa had a so so game, but he is learning too, and this game was a clinic for a player like him,
against these big experienced players, he will go home having learned something tonight.

don't forget, this team is in a transition, a semi rebuild, l.a. is not, they have their complete
championship team, with added talent as well, and same goalie.

too bad canucks didn't play a couple of games against l.a. earlier on, and don't have to meet them
3 times near the end of the season, however they still have games they 'have' to win and 'should'
win, so on they go, and lets see how this all plays out.

no, they are not pitiful, WATCH THE OTHER TEAM aND REALLY SEE WHAT THEY ARE DOING DEFENSIVELY.

yes, i agree with shorty and john garrett, 'SUFFOCATING' by the kings, after
they got the lead, perfect description.

It's going to be a 5 way dog fight now! :)[/QUOTE]

are you actually surprised that it is a dogfight, looking at the numbers, that is the way it was
going, we all knew l.a. would be there, no surprise at all, but they still have to win their
way into the playoffs too, and they have lots of games on the road, so nothing is guaranteed
for them either, or any of the pacific division teams who are battling to stay inside that
playoff position.

the defense of the kings was not going to let any canuck in close enough to
'deke' quick, shots have to bounce in off of someone, or be deflected, or
a good tip in, or a shot from a rebound.
