chicago over pittsburg in a SO, pitts just couldn't match toews and kane 3-2

winnipeg still rolling, great team to watch, 4-0 over columbus.

colorado over boston in a shoot out 3-2

as we speak san jose and l.a. having a big rivalry game, s. jose ahead in the 3rd 3-1 very heated
and rough.

6-3 anaheim over calgary

i'm looking forward to 'all star' week end coming up, its always lots of fun,
skills competition, and other fun events, then the game on sunday, just a
get together to celebrate the NHL, nothing serious, lots of milling Around
for the columbus kids, autographs and pictures and fun for the kids, little
and big.

Isles running a good streak over BBlues - only a last minute goal kept it from being a shutout. Good hitting on both sides, made for good intense almost playoff type hockey.

yeah, i can just see these two teams battling in the playoffs against each other.
it was a good game, i watched it, both goalies had to step it up, they made a difference,
rangers could have pulled even in the second period, but halak was having none of it.

it will be interesting to see just where all of the teams settle as the season moves into the later

part of the schedule.

colorado, minnesota, dallas, and los angelos are all below the playoff line, but they are
all good teams, who were expected to be far up the list this season, this is the time of the season
for teams to change gears and begin to push, so if these teams begin to play like they can, going
forward, it will be very tough for the teams above them.

canucks for instance started strong, but all of these teams who were expected to be up in the standings,
just didn't get out of the starting gate like we thought, made it easier for teams who were not expected
to be near the top of the standings.

chicAgo hAve allready begun to make their move, and playing very well right now, beat anaheim tonight.

winnipeg, vancouver, and calgary will have their work cut out for them, won't be easy, numbers in the
standings are close.

when canucks and calgary were high on the standings i didn't expect them to stay there, too many 'better' teams
in the conference who i knew were going to push hard, and that won't stop.

I predict IF the Canucks can win the next 5 games it will be "game over" for most of these other contenders as Canucks are leading most of them with games in hand.

I predict IF the Canucks can win the next 5 games it will be "game over" for most of these other contenders as Canucks are leading most of them with games in hand.

those games in hand have to be won to be an advantage, and at the moment vancouver need 'more', hopefully
this new defenceman they have acquired makes a difference, and canucks also have to make the 'push' i'm
talking about to stay with the bunch, and remain a playoff spot.

games in hand sound nice when a team has them, so we'll see how that plays out.

as the season winds down later on, the majority of a teams games are within their division.

don't have a clue what the canucks will do, i'm interested in the division and conference, and how
everything will play out, i like it close in numbers, which it is, so they all will battle to get
points, no team has a free ride, all will have to be at their best.

san jose is starting to look stronger now.

l.a. are having trouble scoring goals, but as the season continues, they also will raise their game,
as desperation sets in with teams, and they figure it out.

canucks are not fast and are not very physical, top line is pitiful 5 on 5, they have to have powerplays
to do much, last night henrik sedin got knocked all over the place, must have fallen down 5 times,
as he just hasn't the physical strength or skating ability to stay with bigger players who skate well,
or who are very physical, daniel just stayed out of that type of situation.

the best players are starting to make their mark, mathias was great last night, vey is a very good skater,
fast thinker, and good passer, higgins had a better game, kassien is slowly improving, and the horvat
line was very good, not a top line, but definitely a good line.

and miller has to be very sharp, he had a poor game last game, but the team didn't help him at all,
didn't even score one goal.

they wouldn't have dared to lose last night, as buffalo has now lost 14 games straight, and no team
wants to be the one to see that streak end.

the canucks are doing fine, but i don't see them as a power within their conference.
jim benning has improved the team somewhat, butit is in a transition, and he has a
couple more seasons to bring the team up to the standards they have been use to in
the past. he needs to build a number one line, but maybe mathias is showing him that
he has the 'stuff' to be part of that, when it happens.
they certainly won't collapse like they did under torterella, but if theydon't make
the playoffs, that won't be horrible, they are a work in progress, but this coach
is heads and shoulders better than last year, he dragged them off the floor,
and showed them how to have structure, a fourth line, and be a 'total' team, even
though they aren't world beaters this season, they will come along in time.
too bad they didn't have calgary's coach last year, he has brought that team along
very well, they have done much better than anyone expected, but they are also a
work in progress.

a prediction is just a guess and a hope and a bet, but not really based on much, other than one who
is a fan of that team, and wants them to win.

i'm not posting as a canuck fan, but i am very interested in the conference, and all the teams within,
it is fun to watch how each team tries to figure it out.

Edmonton had a fairly solid lead on Calgary and gave it up in the third period! Sure maddening.

yeah, i have it on, calgary have been doing that all season, they have many wins where they came back in
the third period, not really a good strategy, and i'm sure they haven't been doing it intentionally, but
they have done it over and over.
yeah,i thought edmonton were going to finally beat them.

and also, with 4 minutes left in the 3rd, san jose Are ahead of chicago 1-0, seems
like they are going to hang on to that lead, we'll see how it goes.
it is the second game of a back to bAck for chicago, As they beat anaheim last
night, so san jose seem to be a bit fresher.

yes, 2-0 san jose, after empty net goal.

The worlds best hockey league died years ago. Its about money and ego
not hockey. The wimpy crap we watch now is so boring I tend to pass on
it most nights. I don't think much of today's game and its getting worse

Rangers > Florida 6-3

a clear and convincing win - this is what I want to see from the Broadway Blues

yes, saw parts of the game, they are solid

yes, i've been close to the game since the early 50s, the game now is better than
it ever was in the past, much better.
deeper teams, bigger players, better players, better skaters, better coaching,
much better defense, much better goaltending, it is heads and shoulders improved
over the old 'dead puck' era.

Well, there you go...............as Talloola would say any team can beat any other team on any given night. Way to go OILERS! :)

i watched most of the game, saw the shoot out, 13 rounds before edmonton scored the winner.

they were leading san jose most of the game, then tied it. edmonton was playing very well.

calgary defeated winnipeg, who now have lost 4 in a row, allowed calgary to hop

over vancouver in the standings.

Buffalo just got the monkey off its back. L.A. and Chicago better get the lead out or they could be on the golf course in early April.

i remember the year l.a. won their first cup, they bArely made it into the playoffs, just by the skin of
their teeth, right at the end of the regular season, then went on to win everything, but they are having a tough time scoring goals, but i
can't imagine them not being in the playoffs, and moreso, chicAgo, they'llbe there.

boy, this winnipeg team is a huge, tough, hard team to play, but they do take stupid penalties, so that
is their weakness, but a team must score on their power plays.
we have watched winnipeg play all season, and they are impressive with their size and speed and determination,
but they are struggling right now, i can see that their coach is frustrated with their penalties.

yeah, montreal is the team who let buffalo snap their 14 game losing streak, what
a great feeling that must be, yuk.
