I honestly think that 'marriage' for homosexuals represents little more than sharing rent. It involves no sense of exclusivity, complementarity, ultimate purpose. I doubt many of those 'couples' lining up to have the state bless their 'unions' have any intention of staying together after the sexual energy of the relationship exhausts itself (as it always will in a matter of days, weeks).

They really have no concept, and do not really care what marriage really represents. It is not about 'freedom' at all and its not about 'equality'. It's about responsibility first and foremost, and a denial of freedom to stray.. a commitment to forsake others and harness sexuality exclusively to a constructive emotional and procreative process with a spouse.

To a lifestyle as irresponsible, irresolute and desolate as that of homosexuality.. marriage is simply a political fad, and a way to assuage their misery with some 'affirmation'.. for which those with the disorder seem to have a pathological craving.

and what is the divorce rate amongst heterosexual couples? Give it a rest with the "no exclusivity" argument. It doesn't fly considering what the rate of divorce is for hetro couples and what number of single parents there are in the "hetro" world. Your little club is far from the be all and end all when it comes to raising kids and being faithful.

I'd also like to point out, that the vast majority of "swinging couples" that I have met identify as Catholic.

They can form their own positions and leave marriage alone.

Why?

Yesterday, lawyers for the U.S. Supreme Court sent four marriage cases to the justices to be considered by the justices at their private January 9 conference. That means five marriage cases from five states (Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee) will be discussed by the justices and then be voted on to decide whether the cases will get a hearing.

Four of the nine justices need to agree to hear the cases, and it's now widely expected that they will. Oral arguments will likely be set for spring and then a final decision will come at the end of the Supreme Court term in June.

It's also assumed the Court would not have let marriage equality become legalized in so many states if they didn't agree with it. Still, there are 14 states that ban same-sex couples from getting married.

Same-sex marriage cases ready, scheduled (UPDATED) : SCOTUSblog

Most of it looks good to me.
:happy9: so you can see no baloney in there at all

no problem with them speaking for god or no problem with them saying a child needs to be raised by a man and a woman with little regard for the probability that most households may be dysfunctional at best...no examination of the problems which can be produced by the nuclear family?

I have never stated that heterosexual relationships could not fall into a state of a proximity of two solitudes.. as mutually exploitative, uncomprehending and miserable as any homosexual one.. i have only stated that a homosexual relationship will NEVER rise to the level of truly cooperative, integral and constructive heterosexual union... ever.

Another "eyes wide closed". There are many gay long term relationships out there. All you need to do is open your eyes to see them. You, however, are to blind and closed minded to ever see anything more than what you gave been indoctrinated to see.

I also doubt you even have the ability, anymore, to think for yourself.

All thinking involves the following

  • All reasoning has a purpose
  • All reasoning is an attempt to figure something out, to settle some question, to solve some problem
  • All reasoning is based on assumptions
  • All reasoning is done from some point of view
  • All reasoning is based on data, information, and evidence
  • All reasoning is expressed through, and shaped by, concepts and ideas
  • All reasoning contains inferences by which we draw conclusions and give meaning to data
  • All reasoning leads somewhere, has implications and consequences

I would direct your attention especially to the 4th point.. all reasoning has a point of view.. a system of accepted beliefs.. and to the last.. all reasoning is directed towards an objective.

Without that you are left with an amorphous pile of noetic jelly and sentiment... which is what the West's New Age.. and your.. thinking as to homosexuality and a lot of other stuff is composed.

and 3 and 4 is the reason you are so closed minded.
