I see Edmonton lost another one, late in the game......................too bad!

watched the game, edmonton played a good game, had a good chance to win, they don't have to hang their
heads after that one, and last time they played the sharks they beat them.

edmonton went ahead first, then sharks caught up, then they went ahead, then edmonton caught up,
and quickly took the lead again, but in the 3rd sharks pulled ahead again, and edmonton just
couldn't get that next goal they needed.

they just need a couple of better defense, and a couple of players with lots of heart and energy, like
burrows and hanson.

Minnesota: Gopher State
Russia > Canada 2-1 in IIHF

Canadians had 53 SOGs but goalie Ilya Sorokin stopped 52 of them in a superb performance in a match that went into OT. No question that the Canadians dominated time of possession but he just was not going to get beaten tonight. Islanders goalie has a great NHL future ahead of him.

I like the good work of Max Domi (Tai's son) as he is a great speed skater who has good puck control.

Overall a great match - Sunday it's Canada vs Sweden.

Five games tonight, all with good results!

yeah.

from the bit i sAw, letinan shut the door agAin tonight, boy this northwest air really
helped his game. lol

looks like the teams that were expected to sit somewhere between first and 6th are beginning
to find their places.

l.a. is starting to roll now, had a very sluggish start, (they have done that on more than one
occasion), then begin to roll in the new year.

chicAgo is humming along really well right now, and detroit was, but hAve stumbled slightly of late.

san jose is awake now, playing much better.

looks like canucks and calgary and probably a couple of others will be fighting it out for a
playoff spot, just like we thought would happen at the beginning of the season.

it would be nice if winnipeg and nashville stumble along the way, cause minnesota
and dallas and l.a. will probably move up the ladder.

Struggling Flames, Canucks look to get winFriday, 12.19.2014 Calgary Flames vs. Vancouver CanucksFLAMES (17-15-2) at CANUCKS (18-11-2)

TV: CBC

Season series: The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Calgary Flames 4-2 at Scotiabank Saddledome on Oct. 8 in each team’s season opener. Center Henrik Sedin and defensemen Christopher Tanev and Brad Richardson each had two points for Vancouver.

Flames team scope: Calgary has lost seven games in a row following a 2-1 loss to the Dallas Stars on Friday. It’s the first time since the 1974-75 season that the Flames have lost seven straight in regulation. "It's tough," said captain Mark Giordano, who scored his ninth goal in the loss to Dallas. "It's more than a rut now. It's seven games now that we haven't got a point. The thing about our start was that we didn't fall out of it. We're still right there. We have to find a way now to get one. First, we get one, and then try to string some together. We have to start trying to generate more goals, obviously." Calgary has scored 11 goals in the seven losses. The Flames will visit the Los Angeles Kings on Monday before returning from the holiday break to open a six-game homestand next Saturday vs. the Edmonton Oilers.

Canucks team scope: Vancouver has lost five in a row (0-4-1), including the first two of its four-game homestand. At practice Thursday, coach Willie Desjardins moved forward Jannik Hansen up to the second line with center Nick Bonino and Chris Higgins, according to The Vancouver Sun, and dropped Alexandre Burrows to the fourth line with center Bo Horvat and Derek Dorsett. "Whenever you lose a couple of games — in our case, five games — changes are due to happen," Hansen told the newspaper. "It’s the norm, so we have to find a way to make it work. It’s that simple." Hansen has eight goals, but has gone 10 straight games without scoring, dating to his hat trick Nov. 23 against the Chicago Blackhawks. Right wing Radim Vrbata, who leads the Canucks with 12 goals, has been held without a point in three straight games after he had at least a point in seven of 10 (six goals, four assists). Goalie Ryan Miller has allowed 18 goals in his past five starts. He is 1-4-0 with a 4.11 goals-against average and .843 save percentage.

i think calgary had the edge in play overall, but that overtime erased any memory of that.

this is the beginning of the ongoing battle to stay inside the top 8 in the conference.

miller played well. a good win, a necessary win for canucks.

3-2 overtime

That win was a little luck, I'd say. Neither team really dominated, perhaps Cgy. edged them in the stupidity department! Hope Hansen's O.K.

Well, I was a little disappointed that even with Calgary spotting them a goal, the Canucks still needed a goal in overtime to pullout a win.

Enjoyed the game but the announcer/suckholes make me sick.

They suck the canuck hole so hard 'the game is sold out but tickets are still available game day'-WTF is that?

Corporate propaganda that's what-If it's sold out then it Sold Out.

Anyone with one functioning eye can see the empty seats why lie about it?

Because they are corporate suckholes that's why.

Enjoy the game, ignore the politics!:)

I hear you, that game should have been won in the first period!:) Canucks have to learn once the other team is down to "put a skate on their throats"!

Just looking at the stats, the Canucks position may actually be a little better than one would think. They have games in hand over most teams, but they should win those games!

if the seat that is empty is sold, it is part of the sell out. simple, and that is so with every game.

that analogy, step on their throats would be fine 'if' the opposition was a bunch of pilons, but they
are a decent team, who were just as desperate for a win as canucks, that is the reality.
get to know your divisional rivals.

The quotes (" ") give the expression a slightly different meaning.:) Like in sports when you talk about "killing" the other team you don't mean it literally.

Yep, what's in the cash register is a hell of a lot more important than who/what is in the seat!:)

yeah, stepping on their throats is just, stay ahead of them and win, don't let them back in the
game, and my answer would be the same.

calgary could easily have won in overtime, it is a toss up everytime, and they would have been deserving
of the win, just as canucks were.

Yep, I wasn't very happy through the entire 3rd period, Calgary could smell a win.

Playing Burrows on the 4th line didn't strike me as a smart move!

the fourth line on a willie desjardin team isn't a demotion. he likes to balance his lines so that he
can always play all four, and all four will contribute, and that has been the case.

no team should think they have it a bit easy because they are on the ice Against canuck's fourth line,
that would be a mistake.

burrows was also on the power play, and played an important role in front of the net, and when he presented himself on the ice, his presence was very noticeable all night. lol
