So you would have had the victims just shut up, don't make any waves ? Looks like they didn't feel confident going to their own leader. You knobs can't have it both ways.

Trudeau will get criticized no matter what he does (as does Harper). He chose to be criticized for getting tough on sexual harassment offenders without consulting others. That beats the criticism he would get doing anything differently.

He had options... He made a poor choice.

Indeed. He wanted to be seen as 'being first', a real go-getter. The true 'prudent' thing for shiny pony would have been to wait a day, gather facts, consult with the NDP brass then go ahead. But it's ghomeshi-trendy to jump the shark bandwagon I suppose.

This is what happens when you think with your hair.

The logical conclusion (and in the absence of in-depth information, it can only be speculation) is that the two NDP MPs wanted Trudeau to do exactly what would be done in a private company. That is bring in the two MPs for a private meeting that includes their accusers, make it very clear that any continued bad behaviour would be treated extremely severely, and have the accused submit apologies to the victims.........and everybody moves on.

It appears that is what the women wanted.

It would be different if the accusations were of a more serious nature such as forced sexual contact or beatings, as is the case with Ghomeshi.

You need to face it Liberals, for the good of your country. The truth is Trudeau is incompetent.

Hither and yon
There are a few threads on this issue perhaps they could be merged.
Or not.

Kathleen Wynne is the Premier of Ontario and Leader of the Ontario Liberal Party.
She has just announced that she has “taken action” upon receiving several reports of sexual harassment within the governing Liberal Party of Ontario.
Wynne Mum On Details Of Sexual Harassment Allegations At Ontario Legislature

Liberal MP Judy Sgro has reported that she knows of at least one case of sexual harassment within the Liberal Party of Canada lead by Justin Trudeau. Sgro reports that a staffer suffered multiple counts of harassment and complained repeatedly to several different Liberal MP’s for help or assistance and none was forthcoming. The staffer finally had to quit after no action was taken.
Kelly McParland: Abuse scandal in Ottawa shines a light on Parliament’s hypocrisy | National Post

Justin Trudeau has just suspended two of his Liberal Party of Canada MP’s Scott Andrews and Massimo Pacetti upon hearing about several sexual harassment/assault allegations.
Scott Andrews was Liberal leader Justin Trudeau’s ethics advisor at the time.
The NDP Party of Canada is outraged that Liberal leader Justin Trudeau released the victims names without permission and against their wishes for purely political reasons.
NDP Say MPs 'Victimized A Second Time' After Liberals Made Allegations Public

Chantal Hebert reports that she personally knew of a different Liberal Party of Canada MP who publicly “whipped out his *****” and waggled at a female staffer.
Obviously the Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada was made aware of the issue but once again the Liberal Party of Canada buried the assault claim.
Perhaps this issue was the origin of Liberal leader Justin Trudeau’s “whipping out the big F18’s “ snide crack made in Parliament.
Allegations have opened floodgate for a host of previously untold Hill stories: Hébert | Toronto Star

Yet another Liberal Party of Canada MP sexually harassed a young Liberal staffer to the point where she made two suicide attempts. Again the Liberal party of Canada did it’s very best to bury and ignore the allegations.
John Ivison: Former intern tells tale of sexual harassment on Parliament Hill | National Post

And now retired Liberal Party of Canada MP Shelia Copps says she was sexually assaulted by a Liberal Party of Canada MP and also raped by yet another unnamed individual.

On the breaking CBC, Ghomeshi issues there are many Liberal Party of Canada linkages.
It appears the CBC has been long covering up the story that Ghomeshi is an alleged sexual predator.
The CBC is the de-facto media mouthpiece of the Liberal Party of Canada.
Peter Mansbridge is a highly influential heavy hitter at CBC. He has huge influence over all CBC’s policy decisions.
He is also a highly respected Liberal Party of Canada lifelong member and advisor.
In fact virtually all of CBC’s senior management are Liberal Party of Canada donors, fundraisers and advisors.
The CBC are “unofficially” briefing the Liberal Party of Canada on this issue on a regular and developing basis and so the Liberal Party of Canada is bound to suffer a little bit of “blowback” on the issue.

I listened to Thomas Mulcair’s speeches regarding the almost endless stream of Liberal Party of Canada sexual assault issues.
Mulcair sounded like the Leader of the Official Opposition no more no less.
I also listened to two interviews with female NDP MP’s from Eastern Canada on two different media outlets.
Both female NDP MP’s were outspoken about the fact that they were disgusted and appalled by Justin Trudeau’s actions regarding dealing with the sexual assault allegations.
They both refused to discuss why Justin Trudeau had disgusted them.
They refused to discuss the woman in question or the nature of the claims.
What we know is this.
Two NDP staffers claim to have been assaulted by sitting Liberal party of Canada MP’s.
The staffers talked to the NDP, the NDP talked to the Liberal Party of Canada and then the staffers talked to the Liberal Party of Canada/Justin Trudeau.
My guess is that promises were made regarding keeping the issue out of the media and trying to prevent the staffers from suffering more personal damage.
And my guess is Justin Trudeau burned them and reneged on any understandings for purely political reasons.

There are a couple of takeaways from all this.
Exactly how many Liberal Party of Canada MP’s, ex MP’s and advisors are involved?
And how many are completely innocent of these allegations?
How many more of these allegations about Liberal Party of Canada MP’s are yet to come?

Why are Harper and the Conservatives so quiet on these issues?
Is there a closet full of similar Conservative skeletons waiting to burst forth during the upcoming election cycle?

How many more of these allegations can Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada withstand before they become unelectable?

I had a lot of faith in Mulcair at the beginning of his tenure, but he is really dropping the ball with the party while Trudeau has completely shed the inexperienced moniker he was given when he started.
What flavour was your koolaid?

How so? Did the NDP not want it kept quiet?
That's Liberal logic dude. Don't try and figure it out, it doesn't work.
