A Mouse Once Bit My Sister
Besides all that, access to health care wasn't the issue prior to the enactment of ACA. Affordability is and remains the issue. Now, millions are covered and pre-conditions are no longer any type of factor, no thanks to Republicans.

It's BS gopher... You are going on about 'affordability', yet there are (to my knowledge) 3 different plans for coverage ranging from the Yugo to the Bentley, let alone private plans or access to foreign H/C available only to those with cash?... Isn't this just a variation of what existed before?

Fact is, if ACA was truly universal, there would be one solitary plan available to everyone... Full Stop.

PS - post all of the heartfelt pictures you like, it will never change the reality that our collective, simple existence has birth and death as the common denominator for each and everyone of us, it's not an 'if' - it's a 'when'

There he goes with that ridiculous report that was shot full of holes about 45,000 died because they did not have health insurance. When it was never checked to see if they actually had health insurance at time of death.

Gopher you just guzzle that Kool-Aid.

Then why did 45,000 Americans die every year from lack of health care before Obamacare? Even Canadian expert Dr Danilelle Martin testified to that truth in front of Congress and nobody dared to challenge her. Funny how we are no longer hearing of people dying from lack of care or going broke like they used before ACA was created and ended the Republican death panels.

It was never health care it was health insurance. Geez.

Get your head out of the clouds.

Right on target. Under Obamacare the wealthier you are the better health care and the better availability of doctors and houses.

Sent to me via email:

WONDERFUL NEWS....$$$$$$

I won a Kenyan lottery according to an email from a Nigerian prince.

He holds the sum of ONE MILLION DOLLARS in my name and he

wants to send it to me FREE!

All I have to do is give him my bank account numbers and send him

$500.00 US dollars cash, to show my good faith so he can transfer the

money!

And then I got ANOTHER email. It's from a KENYAN prince who

wants to give me FREE healthcare for life!

All I have to do is give him:

* MY BANK ACCOUNT NUMBERS,

* MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER

* MY CONFIDENTIAL HEALTH INFORMATION

* and pay $700 per month for a policy with only a $10,000 deductible.

Then he can make it happen! Am I really lucky or what?

Hmmm... yes... I simply could not see the President withholding information like this until after the mid-terms.

There is a difference between the right to do something and the power to do something. The president can simply act even if he doesn't have the right to do so. Then it is up to those opposed to the use of such power to expend resources and time to pursue a claim through the judiciary all the way to the US Supreme Court. By that time the president's wrongful exercise of power may have accomplished a fait accompli.

Ummm... did you really just say this? The President doesn't have the power to do a lot of things... but he does them anyway.
Ummmm. . . yes, I did. The President has no power to tell private companies (the insurance companies) what they may and may not say. Li'l ol' thang called the First Amendment. Look it up sometime.

Well Captain - a lot of us Yanks will gladly take the Canadian model as our coverage.

Meanwhile since we don't have it, contrary to the pretensions of the far right, Obamacare is actually working:

Key Study On Obamacare 2015 Premium Rates Is Out And You Won't Believe What's Going To Happen - Forbes

Key Study On Obamacare 2015 Premium Rates Is Out And You Won't Believe What's Going To Happen

While political slanting continues to dominate the public’s opinion on Obamacare, there is nothing like throwing a few facts into the mix to cause people to begin scratching their heads in confusion.

One of the best sources of actual facts is the annual study done by the McKinsey Center for U.S. Health System Reform.

Any self-respecting conservative knows all too well that McKinsey is immune from attack as an organization committed to presenting a left leaning political slant as it remains a bastion of business advice and a company that simply cannot be painted with a blue brush.

So, how do we explain the McKinsey findings, which reveal some awfully good news when it comes to premium rates, as Obamacare begins its second year sign up period beginning November 15?

We explain it by simply pointing out that when your sole approach to a program is based on your preferred political point of view, the truth may sometimes disappoint—even when the truth comes in the form of some pretty good news.

Here are the bullet points of the study:

Despite the cries of the Obamacare bashers that insurance companies would leave the exchanges in droves once they discovered how much money they are losing , it turns out that competition and choice are increasing as we head into 2015.
According to the McKinsey study, “In the 41 states releasing exchange participation carrier data, the number of health insurers increased by 26 percent between 2014 and 2015. In the 19 states with complete fillings, the number of products grew 66 percent, with most in the silver tier.”

While 65 percent of existing policies will see an increase in premium costs for 2015, the medium increase will be just 4 percent.

When was the last time we saw insurance premiums experience an annual increase of less than 5 percent? I cannot remember such a time and doubt that you can either.

The Forbes eBook On Obamacare
Inside Obamacare: The Fix For America’s Ailing Health Care System explores the ways the Affordable Care Act will affect your health care and is available for download now.

What’s more, based on the popularity of the lowest priced policies in a given tier that we saw during the 2014 season, McKinsey expects that a number of people purchasing higher price plans in their preferred tier will move to either the lowest or second lowest plan in the chosen category. For those people, the study suggests the mean increase will be less than 2 percent.

To back this up, the report notes, “According to a recent ASPE report, 64 percent of the 2014 enrollees in federally facilitated marketplaces chose either the lowest-price or second-lowest-price plan in their rating area.”

To be sure, the range of prices, based on policy and regional influences are all over the place.

What a FANTASTIC Law!

Roanoke School Board votes to outsource substitute teachers - Roanoke - Mobile

"The board first talked about outsourcing last month. Officials have said they were exploring the idea because the system faces escalating costs linked to the health care law’s mandate that beginning Jan. 1 employees working an average of 30 hours or more a week be offered health insurance."
Why on earth would you object to that? You hate teachers, you hate government employees, and you love alleged private enterprise (the kind whose only customer and revenue source is the government, and you think is actually a company in the free market. *snicker*). You should be dancing and giggling.

Obamacare premiums falling in 48 major cities

The next open enrollment period for health insurance under Obamacare opens this Saturday, November 15, and shoppers will be largely greeted by good news—lower premiums. Yes, once again a Republican myth about Obamacare—premiums will skyrocket!!!—is busted. Kaiser Family Foundation has expanded its premium review for 2015 to include 48 urban areas, and has found an average 0.2 percent decrease in benchmark silver plans ... seven million newly insured (not counting all those added to Medicaid, and the young people newly covered by their parents' plans) in plans that will remain affordable, and it's all costing the government less than predicted and the rise in healthcare costs is being slowed down dramatically

ACA = still working!

Instead I am just shaking my head at such an asinine post.

I wonder what voters they were talking about?

Yet another video shows ObamaCare architect disparaging voter intelligence | Fox News

Gruber was discussing the law’s so-called "Cadillac tax,” which he said was helped along by “hero” then-Sen. John Kerry. The “Cadillac tax” mandates that insurance companies be taxed rather than policy holders. He said that taxing individuals would have been “politically impossible,” but taxing the companies worked because Americans didn't understand the difference.

“So basically it's the same thing,” he said. “We just tax the insurance companies, they pass on higher prices that offsets the tax break we get, it ends up being the same thing. It's a very clever, you know, basic exploitation of the lack of economic understanding of the American voter.”

..........................................................................................

Gruber said the "lack of transparency" in the way the law was crafted was critical. "Basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass," he said.

Spot on Gruber you crafty devil! You knew your audience!
