so what, if he does that, they win the game, life goes on, and that certainly doesn't say
that trading him was a mistake.
i'm glAd he's gone, his comments today were childish and selfish, he doesn't want to wait any
longer to win the cup, he doesn't want to wait for the canucks to build up their talent again.

these are the kids we need to begin to know, eager, young, very good players, who want to be canucks
more than anything else in their world right now.
and there are some others who will be at the canuck training camp in september, college players, and
other players they have scouted, who will get a chance to do try outs in the fall.
and also, the two players coming this way from anaheim, bonino and sbisa, A forward
and a defenceman, both good players, roster players.

I just did a little research on line to see if there is any chance of a miracle for Gino and it seems (statistically speaking) there is a glimmer of hope. Some patients have survived for 10 years or more. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Gino.

i guess it depends what catagorie he fits into, as it seems there are several different types.
i imagine they allready know what catagorie he is, and they probably know within a certain time-frame

approx 500 people showed at vgh in vancouver yesterday, and chanted 'gino' 'gino' 'gino', he
waved from tenth floor, then he showed up, and was wheeled right into the center of the
crowd and visited them, brings a lump in my throat, so very supportive, and rightfully so.

Yep, great man! From what I've heard, the fans plan on a repeat performance next month.

canucks have money to spend, so they signed 'ryan miller' to a 3 year contract. i like this signing,
as it puts the goalie situation back into a more 'normal' catagorie, as lack, although he has shown
lots of promise, has had far too much put on his shoulders for his experience, so now he can, over
the next couple of years, play backup, (and i would think he will play much more than a regular back-up,)
alongside miller, he can learn from him, and he doesn't have to feel it is 'all' up to him, as he will
have a partner, who will be expected to carry most of the load.
miller wanted to come to the coast, his wife works in hollywood, (entertainer), so the travel for them
now, isn't so far as before, so he is happy.
he has had a great career, was the top goalie in the olympics for the u.s., and although last year wasn't
great for him, i expect him to have a much better year this fall, as now he can settle down again, and
focus on his task, which is stopping the puck.
this also puts the team in a position to fight hard to make the playoffs, in the toughest division in
the nhl, and with solid goalkeeping, that isn't impossible.
canucks still have some money to spend, so i would expect them to either trade a player, or sign a free agent,
soon, or throughout the summer,
they definitely aren't going to win the stanley cup, but they can battle all season to make the playoffs,
then they can give the finger to all of the no-sayers who insist this is a complete rebuild, when it is
actually a re-tool.
benning has stated many times that the team isn't doing a rebuild, but of course, we all know that the
media know much more than any general manager, right? lol lol
i also welcome jerome iginla back into the western conference, (where he belongs).
he has signed with the colorado avalanche, they gave him a 3 yr. contract,
don't know how much.
vancouver was also in the running for him, but i'm sure they didn't offer him
3 years.
he was a great fit in boston, had a great year, but they don't have the cap space
to pay him, they have to concentrate on re-signing their younger plAyers, and it
just couldn't work.

At least the Canucks seem to have a plan. I like what they've done so far. They got two guys who can play now in exchange for Kesler. One of them outscored Kelser last year, and frankly the team has been better when Kelser was out of the lineup. They got a couple of solid draft picks, and first time in decades the number one pick is a local guy. They pick up Ryan Miller on a reasonably short term deal. Overall they've gotten a little deeper in just a short period, have shored up a few more prospects and they've probably banked a few salary-cap dollars at the same time. I don't expect a lot over the next few years considering Gillis ran the team into the ground but at least it's a start in the right direction.
yes, i see it exactly that way too. the signing of miller does give the team a bit of status, people can
at least see that they do have good defense and good goalkeeping, and when willie desjardin's plan for
them begins to click in, hopefully some of the players will have some scoring touch as well.
i don't care about the stanley cup, i just want a good effort, real good fast hockey, that is entertaining, and
with him coaching, they will as that is his style along with good defense.
i hear a lot of whining about not getting enough for kesler, well i am very happy that they got something
done, and apparantly each day, benning had shouting matches with his agent, and he said they would hang
up and do it all over again the next day. only two teams to work with, and i like both the players they
got for him, and all i thought about kesler was, just shut the door on the way out, i was tired of the
arrogance and the me me stuff, if he wanted to go fine, but keep the mouth shut, and just go.
i'm looking forward to training camp, i want to see how the young guys play, and bo horvat might just
make the team this fall, and look good doing it.
the twins are perfect for this kind of team, they will rally around the new players, especially the
young ones, and make them feel welcome, and they will help them along the way, they are so good
about that, they did the same with zack kassian when he first came, they took him to the fitness
work outs, taught him how to train properly, and so on.
oh boy isn't this exciting, almost hockey season, i love it.
