In all seriousness, if he truly was addicted to crack he would be immobilized in the sense by now he would have been in withdrawal mode and phone calls and anything other than waiting for his body to feel somewhat normal again would be at least 8 days from the day of going into rehab.

So it's just a stunt.

The real problem is with this person's personality and his loathing of women and treatment of his wife.

There is no rehab for this.

Even if he was an alcoholic it's too early days of withdrawal for him to have any contact with anyone , if he really is in withdrawal mode.

It's a scam, and I wonder if anyone really cares enough to point this out.

Using a rehab in order to mask your personality and buffoonary is just so wrong on so many levels.

I did my mandatory detox in St Catharines, my 28 days in Newport Treatment Centre, Port Colborne and my 90-meetings-in-90-days in Lindsay, Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls.

I've seen people winning their battles. I've probably seen as many people jump through the hoops to create an illusion too....

I wish Ford well if he's being COMPLETELY honest with himself.

The one thing about addictions is they don't go away and always resurface in some other form once under control.

I think we should go through his garbage and see what sort of candy he uses and then before the stock hits the roof, buy futures and make a bundle.

but then again it might be Russian looking HO's and well, oh hey kyjelly might be an option.
Quit is when a drunk can be the best bartender a bar ever had, quit is when a smoker can insist the windows in the car stay rolled up, quit is when the gun chewing like mannerisms simply don't appear and the former issue is never thought about under any other times, that is what quit is. That being said he better learn to live with the ones he does have because he probably won't rehab himself out of thos e idiosyncratic behaviors that govern first reaction or instant recall of ... uh .... some recent thought or whatever .....

I did my .........
Once I got out of divorce training I really was temped to ask for some sort of certificate just for that 'odd time' when my sanity was questioned I could prove it in black and white.

I wish everyone well.
This does not detract from the fact he doesn't seem to be going through any sort of withdrawal.
He's thumping his chest saying he is fine, never been better. Talking on the phone?

Does this sound like a guy going through withdrawals ?

When you were detoxing were you up for a barrage of phones calls ?

He is not an addict obviously, just an idiot with substance abuse problems and a guy who can't hold his booze.
in another words an Arsehole.

What he does with women and says about his wife in public is disgraceful.

You can't cure that.

This is window dressing for the idiots at Ford Nation.
Unbelievable at how idiotic these people are.

Rob Ford isn’t taking rehab seriously

Who knew battling the demons of addiction could be so easy? “Rehab is amazing” – a lot like football camp, according to Mayor Rob Ford.

Well, logically, the guys in Rehab probably know how to get a lot more and better drugs than the average people he meets every day.

PAAAAARRRRTY!

Let's say he goes in as a sham and the docs accidently hit the right combination and he comes out acting like the Sherlock of Mayorville and suddenly his city skyrockets in new and inventive and legal way to make oodles of cash to offset the fact the economy if ****ed and will be for a ****ing long time so sit back and load up a bowl. (Selling ice to the new billionaires in Mexico perhaps)

sitting around exchanging war stories about where to get better drugs is really discouraged in any decent rehab .

I do agree though the people he associates on his private time are low lifes.
He seems to only have flotsam for friends and his little dog too.

He's addicted to power. Humbling one's self is a big step for most people. For Ford, it will be like a step off the lip of the Grand Canyon.

...... you are referencing 'after the under worked and overpaid doctor shuts the door at night' type of guy right. Right? The guys who have been to rehab more than once should be but in charge of 'several patients' and be given a weekend to help them using any street drug combo he can think of but the guy as to work the 160 hours in a month without hurting himself or others for it to get a passing grade.
Old patients cannot be doctors to former doctors no matter how much money is offered by either side.

If you are going to drug the population via some deception it is no fun for the few that don't get dumbed down enough that they are fully under the spell. Will people really notice the water bill going up by $500/mo when the crime rate in the 'deserted' streets has virtually stopped entirely. Crime stats ore greeted wit a, 'Oh Okay.'

How come his home hasn't been oevrrun by the masses that were his subjects and he basically stole from them, you know like they do in mother Europe even this very day, or this yearly quarter whichever the case may be.

Why doesn't the Toronto Star take a ****ing break from this crap for chrissake. He's in rehab, leave him alone. If he fails, fine, that's on him, but this is disgusting tabloid behavior.

The guy isn't even here.

There's a real Mayoral election going on in Toronto with three other viable candidates. Okay two.

Report on that.

Yeah, it is crazy how the Toronto Star is the only paper to report on this and every other paper is focused on nothing but hard news.

Nope, all media should back the eff off including The Sun they are acting like total scumbags.

I guess I just gravitated toward THE STAR because they stopped pretending to be a news source so long ago.

Lol, based on what you see above, and every other day on their front page, do you really think it is The Star that is no longer trying to be a news source?

The Sun has always been a tabloid newspaper. The Star has devolved into one.

It is sad that after everything has come to light, people still believe all of the lies that Rob and Doug spewed about The Star to try to hide their own problems.

The Star certainly isn't right wing, or the most distinguished newspaper in the world, but it is certainly a news organization that investigates and breaks valuable stories.

Exposing the fact that our mayor is a criminal who is being blackmailed by other criminals is a pretty important story for the public interest.

They let themselves do it because of Rob Ford. they could have chose a different path, but no.

they mad.

After all of the evidence has come out over the past few months, it has shown that everything that they wrote has in fact been true.

The stuff they reported on sounded cartoonish and ridiculous because the guy they were reporting on was cartoonish and ridiculous.

Naw... Sun came tabloid-sized so you wouldn't punch the guy seated beside you on the subway in the mouth while changing pages - then went tabloid-minded over complaints about Donato's Davis-jabbing cartoons

Are you retarded? I'm not defending Ford. In fact I have stated that he should resign and that he needs help. The Star has conducted itself in an incredibly unscrupulous manner. The fact that Ford has been shown to have drug and alcohol issues does not discount the stalking methods in which the Star went above and beyond to get that information. And they are not alone in this. Following people to holiday destinations, peeking over fences and ambushing people at their homes is something you expect from The Inquirer, not a newspaper that touts itself as legit.

If this were Olivia Chow or anyone else, people would be saying enough is enough. He's in rehab. He's done! Let him get on with it.

Just because you happen to hate the individual does not mean they are right.

You are spouting the exact lines that ford does, so yeah, you are defending him.

Focusing on The Star is Ford's classic deflection. Regardless of the fact that reporters from almost every news organization in Canada, and many international ones, are camping outside his office and his house, somehow that is all The Star's fault.

The guy brings this on himself because he refuses to answer questions from the media in the proper context. The media do not have to camp out anywhere to ask Stephen Harper or Kathleen Wynn a question. They have regular media availability. Ford has literally gone weeks without providing the media with any such opportunity. So they do what they have to do.
