well mowich when you read this, i will tell you i'm glad your team is winning, cause that makes you
happy, and thats good. but

this wasn't a very good game at all, pitts. came to play, they did fine, but they had no opposition,
as the rangers didn't come to play, they started like turtles, they turned over the puck more times
than i care to count, and this being playoffs made it very disappointing for sure.
many of the mistakes were unforced errors, just plain sloppy.

can't see rangers going thru this playoff series successfully, as they just make far too many mistakes.

i didn't actually watch the 3rd period, checked in just when rangers pulled their goalie, and they
still did nothing.

they have no power play whatsoever, absolutely nothing, don't know who, on that bench is in charge
of the pp, but whomever it is must be sleeping on the job, cause its awful.

poor lunquist must feel very frustrated standing there and watching his team fumbling and bumbling
around, and rick nash, who should be a leader on the team just looks so ill equipped to lead them
anywhere.

lets see what happens next game.

another puny effort by Broadway Blues - they are especially weak at back checking & it was reported that D McDonagh has a bad shoulder which keeps him from plowing into Pitt forwards

Vignault's teams are always so vanilla.
vineault's canucks for a few years were top of the heap type of team,
fast breakouts, very sharp looking, and his coaching looked very thorough
with good structure.

rangers were playing better a short while back, not sure what to say about this poor effort lately.

torterella did worse with this team, vineault improved this team As the season went along, and
going into playoffs they were playing quite well.

this power play thing, i remember saying the same thing about canucks last season, and saying
that rick bowness was the power play coach, and did a terrible job with that, but he isn't
with vineault in new york, (he went to tampa bay), so?

just seems this team has run out of steam, in the first period they were very very slow.
improved somewhat for a while, but they made so many mistakes.

i think they need to get rick nash off of this team, and replace him with two hArd working
cheaper players, who can Add some spark, nash is a disappointment, he doesn't seem to be the
player that we all remember when he was in columbus.

don't know what to think about them.

Under Tort's they were a real hard working bunch and had success. Vignault's teams don't press much and have a tendancy to lack energy imo. And there isn't much puck support going forward. Lots of long neutral ice passing. His style worked well with the Sedins. I'll bet he wouldn't mind having them on the powerplay these days.

torterella changed the structure and ruined them, he also sat his fourth line which was stupid, and
played everyone else too many minutes and by xmas they were beginning to shatter, and after that
he made mistake after mistake, sat weiss game after game, a very good fourth line player, then gillis
traded him, another stupid move, we were irritated at the time.
i don't agree at all that under torterella they strived, they did everything he made them do as long as
they could, then they fell apart, his structure was wrong for the sedins. dump the puck in and
the other twin chase it, come on.
he caused the injuries from so much shot blocking and finally fatigue, while his fresh 4th line
players sat, and sat and sat. i chuckled when they interviewed weiss after his first game winning
goal in montreal, when he said "torterella doesn't like 4th liners", now weiss is showing how he
can play, and he did that in vancouver too 'before' torterella got there.
i am so glad he is gone, now the new coaches and g.m. can pick up the pieces, put them back together,
change some of them, and begin to move on.

yeah, they worked real hard trying to please him from the beginning of the season, till they could
no longer do that.

good riddance.

I was talking about the Rangers. His teams there weren't bad. I think the present Ranger team needs to play a little stiffer. They're all falling asleep, like the coach.

I was just reading the game recap on CBC Sports, talloola and your take on the game and the Rangers is pretty well exactly what I read there. It will be interesting to see what NY can do when they meet again on Friday. Much as I am glad that the Pens are winning, I am not at all sure that they have what it takes to go all the way as neither of the teams they have played against so far have given them any real solid competition game after game. Still, I will take the win and hope for the best.

Also have to say, I wish it weren't the Rangers we are playing as I too like Alain Vigneault and would have wished him a better series.

oh, ok, lol

you mean i huffed and puffed through that rant for nothing? lol. oh well, i felt
better

also his teams gradually got rid of the high end players, who weren't suited to his coaching at all,
gaborik, for one, was horrible in new york, all the talent he has was totally wasted under that
type of coaching, he is now doing great under sutter, (who is a real coach).
they bought in rick nash, who immediately began to go downhill, and continues to this day, what a
waste of talent, he can't find his game any more, but brad richards improved immensely with vineault, after
torterella sat him at the latter part of last season, a very high end player who came to a standstill.

i listened to a nice interveiw with 'barry trotz' this morning on team 1040, he is probably the most
sought after coach at this time, after leaving nashville, only coach they ever had for all of the
years with a franchise. i liked this interview, gave me a good insight into his style ofcoaching and
his overall personality, a very mature, down to earth, sensible, knowledgeable person, what a good
signing he would be for the canucks, and i'm sure he is on the list, as he said he is on a few lists, but
he is in no hurry to sign with any team right at this time, he is not in a hurry.
it would be nice if boston loses out against montreal, then jim benning will be available for interview,
unless trevor has allready talked to him in boston, when he went there a couple of weeks ago.

didn't realize that he lives in 'vernon', maybe he and jlm are buddies.

i am having so much fun following all of these playoffs series.

great game with boston/montreal, right into overtime before boston finally won it.
series tied at 2

now watching l.a./anaheim, 2-1 after two,for anaheim, they have to win this one or they will be toast.
they are down 2-0, great game, very very physical, much more than the montreal/boston game,
these teams are playing their guts out, two big teams, big bodies all crashing around, fun
to watch, and lots of talent on the ice, selanne scored his second goal of the playoffs.

keep it going boys, all the way to 7 for every series, would be fun.

anaheim won this game, 3-2, so games are 2 to 1 for l.a.

THERE, thats better, rangers looked nothing like 'vanilla' in this game, And i'm beginning to
think those 5 games in 7 days did take a toll on them, if they end up losing the series, but playing
well like they did tonight, then all will be well.

there was a lot of chippy dirty little plays in this game, and crosby should keep his big mouth
shut, as he dolled them out as good as anyone, then whined to the official, come on crosby, be a man,
and don't act like a big baby.

back to new york now, and rangers must win the next one too, or its over, game 6

score tonight, 5-1, rangers

over to chicago and minnesota now, our western conference game, these are the ones
that mean the most to me, not the east.

I heard on the radio today that Martin St Louis's mother died yesterday. My condolences to Martie and the family. Can't say as I am all that upset with the Rangers win after hearing that news.

Yep, doesn't matter how crappy things are, there's always something crappier happening!

You don't want to sell the Rangers short, especially after overcoming overwhelming odds back in '94 to beat the Canucks in the Stanley Cup final.

they just showed an interview with him after the game, brought tears for me, it is very sad.
i don't know how she died, they said it was unexpected.
