Oops, should have been specific. They talk about all the other books about Salinger in the first few pages too.
This one is by David Shields and Shane Salerno. Published 2013
He's one of those authors that people do a 'one name drop' when stating what they're reading, Vonnegut is another one.
oh, didn't know that. The book is simply called Salinger. However, it is the official book of the acclaimed documentary film or so it says at the top of the book on the cover.
Required reading back when we were in school. Man all those slate tablets were heavy.
Vonnegut is another one.

I've not seen the film (this is the one with Phillip Seymour Hoffman I think) and the only book by Salinger I've read is Catcher in the Rye. But he was perhaps better known for being mysterious than he was for his written works. The book is simply called Salinger. Never noticed that? Seems like most people, when you ask them what they've read, will list titles before authors but for some authors, the ones that are so universally well known, like JD Salinger or Kurt Vonnegut, they tend to list their name first.
Just a peculiarity I've noticed but then I am kind of prone to noticing odd little quirks, lol.
