Reuters Poll: Obama’s Approval Rating Craters To Only 39%…

Even worse for Obama, Reuters used a D+10 sample, only 30% of those surveyed were Republicans.

Via All Voices:
As President Barack Obama’s signature Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act enters the all-important sign-up phase next week, the president finds himself with some of the lowest approval ratings of his presidency even as Republicans in an unpopular Congress maneuver to block the health-care legislation from taking effect.

A Reuters-Ipsos poll of 1,729 Americans taken Sept. 20-24 found only 39 percent of those surveyed approve of the job Obama is doing as president, while 55 percent disapprove.

The Reuters-Ipsos poll found that 22 percent of those responding thought the country was headed in the right direction, while 64 percent thought it was on the wrong track.

This is a good post for our 5,000 post.
Obama inherited the 'military deficit' in America, much as Harry Truman did, and is facing the institutional barriers to reducing it. Unfortunately, to employ the military in a high tech world requires a 'contractor gravy train'.

NO one fly's the P51D mustang. or equiv. effective low budget aircraft., so the problem is worse.

In the 1930's the Us military 'purchased to meet needs' the Douglas DB2 instead of the B17 because it was half the
price.

Both Truman a GHW Bush, pretty good presidents, have been lower .

BAd Pix, though. The guy is personally tough.
IF he pulls out of Afghanistan early, HIs approvals rise. Mission there is long over.

Indeed, sir.

For comparison, in 1935 Douglas corp delivered the DB-2 , which did yeoman service, for a flat 55,000.00, including building the prototype. or 918,500.00 ( 2013 pricing)per copy.
The force \multiplier for an F16 is .c/d is 18.8 million in 1998 dollars.....

C'mon, hunboldt, that was as clever, concise, and information-dense a post as has ever been put on this board. Think about it.

It was funny at first, by by the 15 tag post he can become painful.

Come now. Would it have been less tedious if he had gone on at multi-page length about the folly of Canada spending such vast sums on a fighter that is useless to Canada, except as an ornament (in the Yiddish sense) for Mr. Harper?

He said everything that needed to be said in four words. Wisdom is in the ears that hear.

Don't get all in a twist there H.... The uninvited (and perpetual) references to LAAS invited my comments very directly

I'm not the first person to point out that you tend to be 'short on useful information' lately.

However, in 1961 Canada was spending 6.4 % of its GDP on defense. unfortunately ,we were building sub arctic bases that were abandoned within 5 years, RCAF winisk , for instance.

George Pearkes got vilified for 'cleaning the system'.

The Obama ADmin is in an analogous position.

So, despite you regular " I really got under your skin ' posts, you have 'personalised' Harperism as a religion with Stevie as some sort of high priest...interesting.

I'd read up on LAAS, CM, if only for the party post mortem in 2015...

Dissolve the Pentagon, end foreign wars, call back all capital in foreign shelters - problem solved.
well good you have all the answers, let your man get on to fixing them, and then blame bush.
