You bet? You mean you don't know? So let me get this straight, you are arguing against the RCC's position but you really don't know what their position is.....is that correct?
I'm not arguing against its position unless it bucks what science has shown to be what is or what is not.
But since you raised the question, does the church still think its god created life on Earth?

Anyway, the church is bound to run out of church "fact" and submit to scientific fact eventually.

So? Didja catch this bit: "At the same time, scientists should recognize that evolutionary theory does not exclude an overall purpose in creation -- a "superior design" that may be realized through secondary causes like natural selection, it said." The church is still bucking. It still thinks a "superior being" "designed" stuff and does so with absolutely no evidence whatsoever. So what does the church call this architect?

God.

I wonder. Does the Vatican have internet? A public liaison cardinal? nevermind.
"nothing exists that does not owe its existence to God the Creator. The world began when God’s word drew it out of nothingness; all existent beings, all of nature, and all human history is rooted in this primordial event, the very genesis by which the world was constituted and time begun" - CCC 338.
Yep. Magic.

I still think it's far more reasonable to think that perhaps some mystical being might have caused the origins of everything to be but certainly not what happened afterwards. "Perhaps" meaning extremely unlikely, but possible.

If perhaps some Deity did cause the creation, why would they not hang around?
If the Deity could cause creation, tinkering with evolution would be child's play.

You'd think so. But judging by the amount of dysfunction in the beings created by a god in its own image .... :D I mean really? Do we really need people like Kardashians, Justin Beeble, and politicians?

Well he was good enough to provide a manual.
And to address your point - Free Will.

separation of church and state, separation of god and science. While one may raise questions toward the other, they do not hinge upon one another. Should not hinge upon one another. And the answers you've found in one, most certainly won't dictate how someone should live their life in the other.

He is simply acknowledging the fact that a large proportion of priests are gay.
See Fr. Cozzens' estimate of over 50% in America alone.
Library : Priests In Crisis - Catholic Culture

For men of Catholic faith, the priesthood was a logical step if you were gay. It wasn't a big secret, or shocking. It was a large part of why certain families pushed sons and daughters toward the clergy. If you were Catholic, and you were strict followers, and living in a country where gay people had no rights, the clergy was a future where families feared their kids had none.
