I don't think that women want equality, they want a double standard. To me this is what feminism/libbers mean.
I for one believe in equality for both sexes, and will not give to any cancer charities that target for just women.
I am my partners equal in every way. I also like to do things for him. I do believe that there are some things that are for men to do, and some things that are for women to do. I love to cook for him, make him lunch, and take care of him, because he does it for me. He does the man things, like take care of the car, the fixing of things around home, car, etc. I like being a woman, and have no desire to compete with my man, or any man. I have no need to prove I can do anything a man can do. I am secure in my femininity.
I've just red your post ( for the first time , I don't know how I could have missed it ) What a great attitude .

Japanese women getting thinner as American women become fatter

Blaine Harden of the Washington Post reports on how the average weight of Japanese women has been declining:
“I am quite fat, actually,” said Michie Takagi, a 70-year-old grandmother and retired clothing store executive. She has a body mass index (BMI) of 19.9, which is at the thin end of normal. While the average American woman has gained about 25 pounds over the past 30 years, Takagi has gained 4.5 pounds, typical for her age cohort in Japan, according to U.S. and Japanese government figures.
Skinnier still are Japanese women younger than 60, who were thin by international standards three decades ago and who, taken as a group, have since been steadily losing weight.
The trend is most pronounced among women in their 20s. A quarter-century ago, they were twice as likely to be thin as overweight; now they are four times more likely to be thin. For U.S. women of all ages, obesity rates have about doubled since 1980, rising from 17 percent to 35 percent.
Men and children, however, seem to be gaining weight. The trend among women is explained by social pressure and the media’s promotion of thinness as beauty. There still seems to be some questions about why Japanese women are so easily influenced by what they see in TV and magazines:
“In the United States, you see all these beautiful skinny people on television, and yet Americans keep getting fatter anyway,” said Sasaki, the public health expert at Tokyo University. “Why is that?

I'm now in my 7th month as wheat/gluten free having lost 35 lbs and have not re-gained an ounce of it back.

People tell me they can't believe someone my age can lose weight so easily without exercising! :)

I concede I have a gut but ( I,m working on it .....every day) at least my body is proportional .The folks that know me tell me that I,m loosing weight .That's refreshing .
Still , the majority of Australian ,American and Canadian women are pretty fat and like the picture shows ....." not very appetizing ".

No... that gut you have is not proportional at all.

Astounding how you can criticize women on being overweight and you are obese yourself. And you think that it is ok that you are pretty fat because you're apparently chauvinist.

The older you get the harder it is to take the weight off. I regained some this winter, and I am dumping it now.

One technique is to eat quinola porridges, and root vegetable home made soups with lots of onions. Both 'bulk up ' in your digestive tract.

I'm to be careful? This coming from a newby who has no idea what so ever concerning the history or dynamics of this board. I'd say it may be best, at this time, to take your own advice.

Yes but the dynamics have totally changed since I pawned bear out.

You're not telling me anything new... but that doesn't stop me from keeping fit. I've been working out since I was a teenager.

My beef was with China being obese and mocking some women because they are. He thinks it is OK to be a man and overweight and he had the audacity to say the beach ball under his shirt was "proportional".

At least the Chinese lady I'm with ain't fat like these three AMERICAN females...... brrrrr.

What does the Chinese lady have anything to do with you carrying around an inner tube under your shirt?

Here's three American females for you China...
