OK, one of you neo Trudeaumaniacs is going to have to explain to me how an, at best, second string MP, with minimal experience wins 80% of the votes, and didn't do it on his last name?

First. I don't cast myself as a member of a group Neo Trudeaumaniacs.

Trudeau first had to make a place for himself by contesting a riding that had been Bloc for years. He won that riding quite handily
and won a re-election. He caught the imagination of the liberals and I'm certain he caught the attention of the conservatives. He is
41 years old and a wonderful speaker and I wonder why he might be called second string. He is obviously first string now.

The globe and mail article does a good job of explaining how and why.

Justin Trudeau elected Liberal leader in a landslide - The Globe and Mail

and here in his acceptance speech.

there is nothing new here, Justin has been saying these things for some time now. The basics are that it is time for change, it's time for the old to step aside and the youth take over. It's time to stop the bickering, both inside the LPoC and in Canada herself. It's time we stopped the east vs west bullshyte that has been the hallmark of Canadian politics and Canada period for far too long. I think Justin is the man to do this and I feel that he has the ability to build the team necessary to accomplish this.

Unfortunately, this is baloney.

It was Justin that said the problem with Canada is that it is being run from the west, not from Quebec.

It was Justin that said he would consider a separate Quebec if Conservatives continued to rule Canada.

It was Justin that said Quebecers are simply better than other Canadians.

So much for " It's time we stopped the east vs west bullshyte that has been the hallmark of Canadian politics and Canada period for far too long. I think Justin is the man to do this............"

Uh huh.

He caught the imagination of the liberals...
Ya, I would agree, that's likely the all they have now.

Hmmm, I think the press release form the Tories sums that up nicely.
Ya, I watched that, I was uninspired. Seemed hollow and sensationalist, bordering on nationalistic..

That's a great example of nothing.

Maybe, but given the divisive comments he's made, I won't hold my breath.

Finally! We get our Canada back.
Who's "our"?

You asked, I answered. I didn't expect you or any of his detractors to agree. I don't expect Justin to produce miracles and win the next election. What "I" will be looking for, is his ability to rebuild the LPoC and become the official opposition in the next election. Forming the Government can wait until the election after next.

No thanks, I'm flattered you feel that way about me and all, but I'm happily married.

You'll just have to live with the fantasies you have about me.

Now I know what you and Justin Bieber have in common. Your both full of yourselves lol

I actually wouldn't bet against you. You have a point.

It doesn't paint the electorate in a good light, but a point nonetheless.

Even Cannuck thinks it's come down to a cult of personality.
