I was referring to the lose of property values to the residents.

It's all well and good to cry NIMBY, I do it too. But one needs to look at the economic impact on peoples lives.

DOn't forget that when your property value decreases so to do property taxes. High property value is only good if you are planning on selling or using it for collateral. If you are there for the long haul the lower the value the more you save.
