It's also the red herring thrown into every anti-gun debate....
Also since cars cause more deaths than guns...throw in the statement that it's not a valid argument because the original use of guns was to kill something eg. Game animals or enemies shooting at you....while the original use of cars was for transportation.....

So, it would mean that it doesn't matter if any inanimate object kills..... as long as it's original purpose was for something else...
Pried make that argument, because it has merit. If a car had no use other than to kill I highly doubt there would be an auto industry.

:)

Man you really are a city-boy.

Oh, and not very sensible.

So, we should store all our guns in various isolated game parks all over the country.......so the thieves don't have to travel around so much looking for them. Now THERE'S a "Hug-a-Thug" program! lol

I don't go out and pay $1000 for a good pistol to leave it somewhere else.......

Nor will Canadians tolerate any such laws or restrictions. Did you learn nothing from the long gun registry fiasco???

I learned that there are more people that care about the freedom to bear arms than not.

.. but just barely. :)

In your opinion...

The rest is just another fallacy that the antis like to promote..Firearms are used for hunting, target practice and home protection etc.

The first knives made were used to hunt, which means killing, but you you don't see a call for a ban when someone is murdered with a knife

Yes knives can/were used to hunt food and prepare food. They have many legitimate uses. Automatic assault rifles - only one use; to kill people.

Canada has no "right" to do any such thing.

and there are restrictions on what kind and size of knife you are allowed to carry. Try walking down the street with a 12 inch bowie and see what happens.

I have no problems with restrictions on fully automatic assault rifles...but in the US as in Canada there are several semi-automatic rifles that are banned simply because they (look) military, while the exact same rifle (Mechanically) is OK for hunting.
The only one that comes to mind right now is the AR 15, I'm sure that Colpy can name several without even looking it up.

Try walking into a bank with so much as a look alike firearm....
or using a different filter when reading my posts;-)
