Ads and Nickleback are the two main reason I don't listen to commercial radio.
Advertisers would love to get onto RadioOne and Two. They are far more popular than we've been lead to believe.
The CBC is a waste of taxpayer money. It should be canned altogether.
If the CBC shut it doors today, it would have little to no impact on anyone's life (except the employees of CBC). Things would carry on just like they have in the past. Can it!!

They have a small share of Sirius Canada. Even smaller share of the new Sirius XM Canada. Of course, one can get their subs directly from the US parent and avoid CRTC restrictions imposted on the Canadian subsiduaries ... and get it cheaper too as well. You still get the CBC stations although they may need to be altered as they are billed as commercial free.
CBC programs are brodcast through NPR in the US. My sister in Texas was pickled tink when they started to carry CBC programs.

I also bought a couple fo Stuart McLean's CDs. His "Christmas at the Torklesons" is a side splitter.
We went to see hime do his C-mas show here in Regina last fall. It was an excellent time.
I really enjoy the Debaters and as guitar player Randy's Vinyl Tap is great too.

I miss the dead dog cafe,I would advise anybody that doesn't like cbc to change the channel,don't worry,steve already has that money he cut from CBC blown on something waaayyy worthlesser.
