I know you can spout off his logic, but I don't think his suit will hold water. They didn't grant any other religion a student association devoted to worship.

Yea, I'm realizing now after reading the official press release, that it is his claim that they are directing resources unfairly.

If he can show that they are, then he has a case. Otherwise, if he's just demanding for muslim prayer sites just because, then he'll have a much tougher time convincing the HR board.

Catholic University is sued over Muslim students’ rights - The Washington Post

This "Catholic" school is setting a dangerous precedent by accommodating select groups even though they have a policy that deems otherwise.

They should either give freedom for all groups or enforce their policy to accommodate Catholics only (as they should since they're supposed to be a Catholic school).

But let's not let FOX's endorsement of the absence of truth confuse us here. Doing so might taint our view of muslims a little... negatively, shall we say?

Ya gotta relax more kid. These sorts of things can end up rent-free in yer head. ;-)

Ain't that the truth.

My interpretation is that this professor is throwing the Muslim students under the bus in the arena of public opinion... Nothing like using some unwitting human shields in order to garner some publicity for yourself.

Keep pouring on the cheeeeeeeese guys. :p

Don't you find it just a little interesting that the complaint does not involve any of the Muslim student body?

Not really. It is up to him to show the need for it, but he simply recognized a possible rights issue before the student body did.

I'm not Jewish or Catholic or Muslim. What about my rights man? I want a special room at all three institutions where I can drink beer, watch porno and pray to my god. MONEY

I am so sick of the bitching and all for segregation. Can't Jews stay in their Synagogues? Can't Catholics stay in their Churches? Can't Muslims stay in their Mosques? Good grief, the lot of them turn me right off religion.

Stay in your own playground and quit trying infiltrate the other.

Yuh bunch of babies.

The irony of one lawyer criticizing another lawyer for being a lawyer.

Delicious.

News: Muslim college students are shocked ... SHOCKED ... that they are surrounded symbols of Christianity. Fark: At Catholic University

The Washington, D.C. Office of Human Rights confirmed that it is investigating allegations that Catholic University violated the human rights of Muslim students by not allowing them to form a Muslim student group and by not providing them rooms without Christian symbols for their daily prayers.

The investigation alleges that Muslim students “must perform their prayers surrounded by symbols of Catholicism – e.g., a wooden crucifix, paintings of Jesus, pictures of priests and theologians which many Muslim students find inappropriate.” A spokesperson for the Office of Human Rights told Fox News they had received a 60-page complaint against the private university. The investigation, they said, could take as long a six months.

Is it a public school in the sence that it receives any government funding? If not, then as far as I'm concerned, that's the school's own business.

Of course, this is FUD for the real news story.

Good point. Though I suppose we could argue that since the catholic faith is a post-Jewish faith, wheras Islam is a post-Christian Faith, that the school could accept a pre-Christian Faith but not a post-Christian Faith possibly.
