Shipping jobs overseas, I agree with that its a problem, lack of education in some sections
of the Black community and the less educated whites is also a problem, but racism come
on. The problem is many people failed to get an education because the dropped out of the
school setting and now the economy has changed and they don't have the education and
training to do the jobs available.
The reality is there are all kinds of jobs out there waiting to be filled its just that people don't
have the education and expert training to do them. That is not racism though it is a social
problem, left over from the days when not everyone had to maximize their educational
opportunities. Now they are the essential ingredients for success and a chance at prosperity.
Even ditch digging today requires a high level of math and other forms of education. It too
expensive to hire people to dig ditches that is done by machines, to calculated specific depths.
to meet building codes etc. Give me a break, politicians and governments are the ones that
allowed this to happen, to save tax dollars for the people that put them in power.
Is is a class problem, perhaps, the wealthy saved the tax dollars and invested them in their
retirement accounts. The problem is the infrastructure. roads, bridges, rail lines. Levies, and
other projects went begging for funds along with education, training and mentoring. Now the
bills are coming do for replacement rather than repair.
In addition the same companies that created all the pollution and damage to the environment
are the same companies that are being hired to clean it up and everyone pretends the companies
are stellar citizens doing their part for a better tomorrow. The problem is the middle class and
the lower middle class voted for the people who abused them, not to mention the religious groups
that were promoting the people who were abusing them. Now the chickens are coming home to
roost.
This is not racism, its about ignorance and the participation in the process that created their self
inflicted misery. What is needed is the tax increases that are being resisted and are also
inevitable. The money must go to rebuild the roads and bridges, and begin to renew the education
system and especially the inner city education system.
There is a lot of blame to go round here and labels like racism only prevent people from confronting
the reality of what is really happening. Ask yourself, If Michelle whatever her name is can actually
win a primary anywhere despite being the biggest Republican flake in decades, can you expect the
education system to improve? If people believe they can simply raise the debt ceiling and go on
spending without sacrifice, is the education system working? This problem is way bigger than the
old racism card. It might be part of the top ten reasons mind you, but it would rank about nine or ten
on the list of excuses, by those who don't want to accept their responsibility for the mess on either
side of the political fence. If it doesn't fit anywhere else cry racism, personally I have had enough of
that. It is time for solutions not rhetoric. (end of rant)
