The best comment I have yet seen:

DePape called for a “Canadian version of an Arab Spring.” That’s right, we should all take to the streets and demand free and fair elections — you know, like the one we had on May 2. Now you’d think that a college student would know that we enjoy the freedom and system of government that thousands of Arabs are fighting, and dying, to achieve. But she somehow thinks that our first-past-the-post system invalidates the entire democratic process. I suppose we should expect contradictions like this from someone who professes to support democracy, but took a job in the unelected Senate.
Jesse Kline: DePape doesn’t understand what the Arabs are fighting for | Full Comment | National Post

BTW, this brave soul sacrificed very little......her job was to end anyway in three weeks. You have to be a student to be a page, and she just graduated...........

Brigette DePape looks good in Liberal red and has a good read on Harper

She looks great wearing black, the colour of mourning. Her prospects for any government job, ever, are as dead as a door nail. Even - surprisingly - Liberals have enough sense to shun and ostracize a back-stabber.

The girl is a radical activist, which is fine. In fact, it is indicative of the freedom in our system that she was allowed to work as a Page despite her anti-gov't views and actions. But she pushed it way too hard when she betrayed the trust shown her by using her access to defile and disrupt a ceremony that is definitive in our democracy. Thus the title "twit" is well earned. Perhaps, with time, she'll grow up.

Thanks for the negative, mentalfloss. You are so predictable.

I don't know who gave you the second one but that's democracy, lol

I don't expect her to get a job in politics any time soon.

Now, if it's not too much to ask, be honest. If it was a Liberal majority government and a page came out showing a sign saying "STOP...Liberal PM" would you be just as supportive? Would you be just as abrasive and offensive to the Prime Minister? Would you start a thread of similar phony indignation?

Just asking. I expect no answers. Liberals (small or big 'l') are usually pretty quiet when cornered with a question they can't answer.

The good thing about this is that it will bring more attention to important talking points about our existing 'democracy'.

...

Or we can talk about Harper's new cat.

I think you guys are missing the serious side of this story, she wasnt just bound by a contract of employment, she also violated a security clearance issued to her, and i would not be suprised if she had to sign an ethics agreement or pledge an oath of ethics.

Imo, she has done more than just hold up a sign and got fired.

I'm sure she broke a lot of rules.

That's why she got fired.

To you, Omicron, every time a Liberal government is elected by similar numbers.

Meaning what? That I'm speaking as a Liberal partisan sorely licking his wounds?

Jesus muther f-cking Lord of Mary do have any idea how to look at things objectively?

I am telling you from a non-partisan perspective that this is *not* democracy.

It's so flawed that it let a minority get a dictatorship. Normally a situation like this would be for pulp-fiction, but it *has* happened.

The only check-and-balance would have been the USA, which will not let things get too nuts up here, but they're going into the dumpster because they let Goldman Sackers deregulate and filch their economy and take the world into a recession we still haven't climbed out of years longer than it normally takes to recover from a financial bump.

Which means we're hooped, because it used to be if you didn't like it you could emigrate to the New World, but we're not going to have a New World until climate change finishes melting the Antarctic icecap.

Anyway... sort of off topic but sort of not... here's the billboard that a denomination paid to advertize on after their prediction of the rapture didn't happen:

She may have ruined all hope in recieving security clearance for any gov job in the future. Depending on her choice of universitty degree, she may have screwed up bigtime
