Bell has no fee agreement with Quebecor, Sun News withdrew it's signal from Bell Satellite TV. that can't be good for ratings. Who is managing this station anyways...maybe they should ask CBC for some pro-bono advice :D

Oh yea, I forgot that the guy that owns the Sun is from Quebec.

Ha... these next few years will be all kinds of fun!

Maybe Harper will subsidise Quebecor the same way the Libs subsidised the CBC....only fair non?

I'm pretty sure conservatives subsidize CBC now. They recently made a statement that they will continue funding the channel.

And you voted these schmucks in?

Oh DaS.. I never thought you would be a CBC supporter. *shakes head*

One of the surest way to recognize an egotistical bully is the fact a bully always wants to silence the opponents. Why? Because on their own merit bullies are nothing.

I had the misfortune of being a Bell Expresview customer once. Never again.

Those who have a chance to dump those bastards, should do so and switch to Shaw.

Amazing how many forms that censorship can take, ain't it?

I don't know if I would call it censorship as Robbers DPI boxes looks at packet headers & protocols (specifically torrents), not so much content. Either way, it's BS and a gross violation of Net Neutrality. I'm interested to see what the conservatives stance will be on that.

It's a slippery slope DD.

RE: Torrents... If Rogers was just following the rules/laws, that is one thing, but in applying their own subjective opinion to the issue (right or wrong), they are forcing their ideals... Not to get overly theatrical in my analogy, but Sen McCarthy started out this way to.

I agree, it's a slippery slope.

Rogers doesn't even follow their own public policy to packet throttling/filtering. They claim they only throttle upload packets but that's a complete lie. On average, if I start downloading a torrent, my average download speed is in the range of 40KB/s-100KB/s, then, if I connect my VPN, bypassing Rogers throttle, my torrent downloads magically transfer in 500-900 KB's range.

I really like the telecomm company I own with it's best in the world technology and lowest prices in Canada that subsidize my well being.

By the way, something over 70% of Canadians believe in God.......and are, therefore "creationist".

Really? I wasn't aware that because I believed in gawd, I was automatically a creationist. I'm dying to hear the logic behind that one.

From what I have read is that Sun TV requested to Bell that they cease broadcasting their signal until they come to an agreement of sorts for carriage fee's.

But surely Sun TV has foreseen their inevitable explosion in ratings and quibbling over a minor carriage fee is pointless?

Their viewership has been horrid so far, that's what the newspapers say anyways. As to what their signal is actually worth, who knows. I'm not privy to the magic formula unfortunately. ;)
