I thought you old people got a tax break at the register? Non?

You don't live on a res, the Status card is useless, unless you want to get a PO box on a res and be sneaky. Not my cup-o-tea.

Even the Bass Pro has signs at the register now, directing all 'tax exempt' purchases, to customer service. Where a well trained customer service rep, will ask for drivers licenses, to prove res residency, and eligibility.

The across the board tax exemption myth, is just that, a myth.

I only get a discount on coffee at McDonald and on thursdays at Shoppers drug Mart....
But when it comes to Natives...I see them hand their cards when they're in front of me at the check out...and they live in town....not in Moosenee.
I never asked anyone what the deal was....If they get something out of it ....good for them.

There's getting something out of it, then there's feeding the trolls and bigots.

There's also treaties for different Nations, that recognize treaty zones/territories. Cree is a Nation I know very little about, treaty wise.

Now that's an explanation I never thought of....when I first noticed it happening was a couple of years ago when they had that flood in the spring up north and they had a whole bunch of people in town and in Timmins.
But the ones that I see lately I have seen around town all winter......and we are close enough to Moosenee to be part of such a zone....makes sense.

During a commercial break, Chow removed her jacket and finished the couple’s hour-long segment in a fashionable sleeveless top - similar to the outfits many of the female anchors wear, including Pierson.

Asked later why she took offer her jacket, the NDP candidate for the Trinity-Spadina riding in Toronto said she wanted to make a statement, to bring attention to why name-calling and derogatory attacks are among the reasons women stay away from politics.

“We need to elect more women in politics. It’s not what they wear that matters - it’s the ideas they bring forward.”

The NDP can boast that 40% of its candidates this election are women - a Canadian record and the most of all parties.

I venture to guess that nobody would run faster from a chainsaw than Avro. After it was started by someone else, of course!

In fairness, how edgy do you really have to (or want to) be when over 90% of your viewers have their pants pulled up to their armpits. If they had somebody like Elvira Kurt as a guest, they might lose a quarter of their audience due to stroke.

I am NOT offended. Being OFFENDED is strictly a liberal trait. I have learned in Kindergarten that sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me. Liberals are the ones who cry and report when somebody calls them idiots, even when they know fully well, themselves, that they are idiots, but too much of idiots to realize it.

You'll never hear me preach about free speech. I practice it, honour it and let liberal preach about it.
