Hi!
Could you help me to find names of all Environmental Protection Organizations in Canada? I mean mainly big ones, governmental as well as nongovernmental (NGO).
For example – WWF, Greenpeace, Society for Conservation Biology (SCB), Ducks Unlimited Canada, Park Canada. What else?

I need this information, because I want to know about theirs projects, locations and open positions.

You'd have to check each province for their agencies as for NGOs you've listed the main ones.

What should I do? I’m sorry, I don’t understand.
Could you give me an example? What should I do to list all Environmental Protection Organizations in Quebec?

As you peruse you'll get the gist that the govt treats the environment as a resource to be exploited not a natural entity to be protected.

As for the NGOs they are merely some of the biggest land owners in Canada who claim to put environment as their first interest but if there is a resource under that wetland, desert, grassland or forest they have no problems accepting the royalties and using them to buy more land with potential resource wealth.

I think that every method of work has advantages and disadvantages. Also I know that very often people criticize green NGOs for theirs activity.
But I think that we have only those things that we’ve made by ourselves. Activity of green NGOs, as well as work of some governmental organizations – the only way that humanity could use to solve big problems in Nature.

So, if a person wants to work in the field of Environmental Protection, he has to join some of these organizations – governmental or nongovernmental. He must choose what principles of work will be good for him and then – work! He could try to improve something in this organization from within but that’s all.

If it were me I'd go with fresh water management/conservation on the govt end who do work rather well with the NGOs like D.U.

WWF is buying up land that surround public forests and posts them as no trespassing blocking Canadians from accessing and enjoying provincial or federal public use lands.

As a hunter that really pisses me off.

You mean that ordinary people can’t walk in the forests that were bought up by WWF? Or they can’t hunt in these lands?

Sport hunting – is an atavism. It’s absolutely crazy thing – when people have fun by torture and killing of animals.

Posted as No Tresspasing so if you wanted to walk thrugh to the hunting lands the hunting cops can give you some serious hassles.

I eat what I kill. Have you ever had elk? If you did you want to hunt for them too. Besides hunting and putting them in your freezer in September is far better than having one land in your lap in March while driving down the highway at 110Km/h.

This is quite a complicated question. I think it's related with jural and moral rights. In ordinary situation people don’t have right to kill other people. Why do they have right to kill wild free animals?

Yes, people kill livestock and catch fish. It is bad, but it is essential for our life. People can’t stop eat meat, that’s why they must fish and kill livestock.

But when you come in the forest you meet there wild free animals, which have right for life and happiness, like you have this right. So, when you are walking in the forest nobody has right to kill you. Why do you think that you have right to deprive wild free animals of life and happiness there?

The only reason people eat beef, pork, sheep, chickens is because they aren't that fast at running away as deer, elk and moose.

If God wants deer, elk and moose to not be killed by hunters who have taken on the role of predator that the wolf once filled he'll set them up with legs so they can out run a .270

This is lame excuse. You didn’t tell anything about your rights.

What’s the difference between you (a free man) and an elk (a free animal)? It has four limbs (like you), one head with two eyes and two ears (like you). Why do you think that you can kill and eat him? You think that you have more sense than elk and that’s why you could kill him?
Explain me, please, I can’t understand hunters. I can’t understand how people could kill beautiful animal who wants to live and bring up its children.. How could they do it? When it isn’t necessary for theirs survival, when they could go to the shop and buy any food they want. Why do they deprive animals of life??

There are more deer elk and moose where I live now than before Europeans came along.

These animals no longer eat the prairie grasses. They eat wheat, barley, oats, flax, lentils, rye, millet all which should be going on people's dinner plates so they don't have to eat meat. The ruminants are doing too well because of this.

What right does a a ruminant have coming on my farm and eating $200 of my grain? Did I plant it and tend to it for the benefit of ruminants?

I don't have the right to feed my family and put food on my table? Why should I be starved out by something that will end up road kill because of over population?

I wonder if giraffe makes good koulbasa? If we had giraffe here and they became overpopulated and fat and slow from a grain diet I'd shoot and eat them too if they were tasty.

There is plenty of room for all of God's creatures right beside the mashed potatos.

Lessie wondered:

"People haven’t right to kill and eat other people. Why do they have right to kill and eat wild free animals?"

Also, what right do people have to kill and eat innocent living fruits and vegetables?

People should have the decency of obtaining their nourishment by photosynthesis, the only way to avoid killing another living entity.

What say you, Lessie?
