I think we would all be in the dark ages if it wasn't for secular humanism originating in Britain. I'm sure there was certain appeal in pre-industrial rural life (grain society = lot of beer) but I am thinking more along the lines of people being skinned alive in an open square for "entertainment".

Flaying - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Even in British India, the British went to considerable effort to clamp down on savagery. Like women being killed for "infidelity" when they were raped (still happens; ironically, in some areas of rural India and still is the case in Afghanistan)

So? Wall Street also threw money at Lenin and Trotsky, it's called having a dynamic portfolio! Are you going to also blame wall street if we ever manage to come to war with China?

The Us does have a long history of these tactics.

Give your enemy arms and military assistance, then convince the public they will use them on you to justify invading them.

I must admit it is a good strategy that has worked well in the past.

As always there is more than one discussion going on here at the same time.
As for the Koreans no they should not and will not be sent home this is pure
politics and nothing more. These people will not be returned.
As for Americans coming here to not be part of a conflict? If they were subject
to a draft which is from some years ago, I would say no they should not be
returned those people came here under much different circumstances in a time
and place in history that proved allowing them to stay was appropriate at the time.
As for soldiers who are in fact members of the armed services of the US, and
in fact signed on their own, they should be returned. Soldiers who are members
of a force and are being paid to fulfill a contract they signed onto of their own free
will, should not be given safe haven under the current conditions.

China is a good boogeyman, everything we kick out of port and an airbase is built with China in mind. Not that China could ever win a war; despite a billion people, we still have far more nukes and access to resources in the world. The whole "CHINA STRONG" crowd fails to mention that the Chinese; because of their tribal mentality, have few friends in the world.

Just a couple of corrections:

1- we have NO nukes..Canada is a nuclear free zone.

2- it is unknown how many warheads the Chinese actually have and most experts agree that because of the disarmament treaties with the soviet block we now have far less than China.

3- no one is going to be stupid enough to push the button first nowadays (maybe Kim Jong IL) but most accept that once it starts most of the human race will stop.

North Korea would be destroyed, they have at best 10 nukes and are very rudimentary at best, we could destroy them and move on. End of problem.

So fall-out is not a problem to you. You don't care that they may get to launch a few of those 10 nukes at us. You don't care about wiping out millions of innocent citizens who are already oppressed. Or the chance that China or Vietnam or Iran or a multitude of other countries including western ones may step in.

Do I need to go on?
