different divisions change from time to time and become stronger or weaker, depending on
performance from season to season, up until last season the north west division was
probably the strongest in the league, according to how competetive they were within
their division against each other, none of them either went to the finals or won the cup, recently.
Pittsburg won the stanely cup after having not played in a strong division
detroit won the stanley cup before that having not played in a strong division
doesn't matter much after the dust settles. those stats change and different
teams win divisions because of it, just the way it goes for everyone.
it is an interesting comment, but doesn't mean much, other than the strongest team in the
division will probably win 'that' division, and it ends there.
