I think they missed the playoffs 2007/08 last year naslund was on the team.
I've been trying to find 'where' to look thru the history of how they finished, can't
find it, maybe someone else knows. It seems all of the stats on the canuck site are just
for individuals, correct me if i'm wrong please, because I want to know where those stats are.

There are lots of positive things about the Vancouver Canucks right now:

They are on a six game winning streak. They have the league's best powerplay. Most of the team is healthy and the team has more depth than it has had in years. I understand Tambelini is on wavers. If we don't need Tambelini we must be in pretty good shape.

Yep, I'm pretty sure in 06/07 they got knocked out in the 2nd round after edging Dallas in the first round in 7 games.

Actually, it appears you need him on your top line. I guess his 20 goal and 29 assist in his 7 year NHL career makes him an attractive player for the top line......yup...those 'nucks sure are deep

News flash....beating the Flames or the Oilers means nothing. They are two of the weaker teams in the league and that is why the 'nucks will finish higher than they should. I'm sure every other team in the league would love to have Vancouver's luck and get to play Calgary and Edmonton a dozen times.

Winning the cup requires Vancouver to beat more than Edmonton and Calgary. As I've said, they are only 500 against teams that are better than 500....not a particularly impressive stat.

As usual you are absolutely correct. Minnesota is a good example of change of strength, you never know at the start of a season what they are going to be like. Look at Philly just a year or two ago and New Jersey at the other extreme. St. Louis is another perfect example just a year or so ago right at the bottom of the league, Phoenix has gone from a nobody (since Gretzky left) to a power house. There is a lot more to winning the Stanley Cup than being the best team, including schedules, injuries, lucky breaks, unlucky breaks for the opponents, the goal tender's mood.

You may want to check the Oilers' reg. season stats during the mid 80s.

I'm sorry that you feel questioning the strength of the 'nucks is trolling. I'm not surprised really. You've never struck me as somebody who could discuss issues without throwing labels around.

Perhaps you could talk to the mods and have the rules changed so that only die hard 'nucks fans are allowed to come to this thread.
