Beginning of Sharia Law in Canada?

I am watching the Mayor Elect of Calgary and so far I have not heard one thing that
would lead me or anyone else, to believe that we are about to get a dose of Muslim
doctrine. In fact, his hero's cross party lines. He thinks somewhat like I do about
some of these things. Is snow removal right or left, for example, a good idea is a
good idea, regardless, and a bad one is a bad idea, not either left or right.
He might be socially progressive and I think slightly conservative.
Now that I have watched him for a while I wish he could bring his enthusiasm to
our city.

I would agree it is not sharia law........

It is, however, our legal system destroying ancient tradition to placate the enemies of western civilization.

And that is not paranoia....if you wear a burka, you are no friend of the liberalism that is has taken centuries to develop in the west....

No, NOT being a friend of liberalism would be FORCING a rape victim to undress herself in front of her attacker to satiate some ridiculous notion that facial recognition is how a court recognizes a person. It's not the only way to identify, or 'face' someone.

I don't like burkas, etc., but the idea of stripping the victim of a crime in court so that an accused has some satisfaction is ridiculous. The court should ensure that all parties are who they say they are, as they apply to the case, and that's that.

The thing is that I believe damngrumpy is right when he says its a "custom" as opposed to "religion." Religion has been banned from our schools and most public domains, "Merry Christmas" greetings are frowned upon and yet this woman wants to wear the veil for "religious" reasons and that's acceptable and supported no less, by the very people who fought to eliminate religion from public discourse to begin with. What am I missing??

I guess I find being "PC" rather confusing!!
