Luongo stopped just twelve of eighteen shots while Schneider stopped six out of six. In the last game Schneider stopped all
but one. My only comment is that Lui has to improve........a lot.

One more: The game was over when it was four to one in the second period.

The best player on the ice, played in the last period, as cory schneider shut them out for the whole
period, and looked very sharp.

Perhaps the Canucks need to do what the Penguins did. The Pittsburgh #1 goalie(Marc-Andre Fleury) started off the season playing horribly and he has now been relegated to backup duty. The Canucks should play Schneider for a few games so that Luongo can get his game sorted out.

Should have put Schneider in after the third goal.

guess he wanted the team, and luongo to fight their way back, 3 goals isn't all that bad,
can be overcome, i'm glad he didn't, as it showed just how bad they were going to be for
the duration of the game. Luongo wasn't awful 'all by himself', they all were.

before this game tonight, luongo had played very well, a couple of gliches last game he played, but
all in all he has been good.

so, it begins tonight, and if he can snap out of it for his next game and move forward, all is well.
if he can't, vineault has some decisions to make.

that is the reason for schneider to be signed this year and become the back up, he can challenge luongo,
not just be a back up that has no future, he is a 'starter' actually, not really a back up at all.

It will be interesting.

When the goalie has a bad game it affects the rest of the team. Vancouver scored the first goal and then let in
six goals in a row. You could see the Canucks sag when the third goal in a row was scored on them. The way the team
played after that, three to one was insurmountable.

I can turn that around and say that when the team has a bad game, defensive coverage stinks, etc,
it affects the goalies game.

The bottom line in last nights game, was 'everyone', after that first goal was scored, it woke up
minnesota, got their attention, and they rose to the occation.

Luongo should be thrown right back in the game tonight, as chicago is another rink where he has not
played well, so he should be the first one on the ice.

If he continues to have bad games, then of course cory schneider will get more games. Don't be in
a big hurry to single out luongo, and let all the other guys off the hook.

He has played very well till this game, so lets give him a chance to redeem himself.

Please watch the defensive coverage tonight, as last night they were dreadful, out of position many
times, and just played awful, so luongo and the defence are a little team together, and they all
played poorly, then the forwards did nothing to score, the twins did get their points, but nothing
followed, raymond had a terrible game, (he is one of my favourite players,) haven't seen him play this
bad for a long time, the line that kesler was on played poorly, including him, he had no passion at all,
just went through the motions.
They will have to raise their game to give chicago a battle, hope they can do it.
It's still early in the season, not much consistency on the team, vineault has struggled trying to get
lines to gel.
Burrows will be back soon, but don't expect too much from right him away, it was a serious injury, complicated
surgery and a lot of time away from the game, but his passion will be there.

I hope hamhuis can play tonight, he is 'gold' back there on defence, and they missed him last night.

If luongo bombs tonight, but the team plays decent, then, if I were vineault I would
start giving a good look at schneider, and play him as long as he plays well, then
when he begins to flounder a bit, throw luongo back in.

Minnesota has the second coolest jersey in the league-just after Chicago.

Not the design so much as the colours-classic.

Yeah....they look very familiar.....now where have I seen them before?

How about the 1910-1911 Canadiens.

good game by canucks tonight, they worked hard, luongo played solid, and now they can move
forward, and forget about that ugly performance last night.

I predicted that all 6 shooters would score in the shoot out, and it almost happened, as samuelsson
had turco beaten, and couldn't finish, turco didn't save it.

one point again, they won't gain much ground this way, but they are still looking for some
consistency, and at least tonight they worked very hard, scored a scrambly goal by daniel,
who was waiting at the net for the loose puck, then shot it in.

they play minnesota at home on friday night, hopefully they can give them a taste of what minny
gave them last night.

hopefully now, everyone won't want luongo sent the salt mines, as the phone calls today to team 1040
dwelled on how bad he plays, how quick everyone forgets the first two games he played, which were
lights out, won the game for the team against carolina, and with exception of the minnesota game he
has played just fine, but he does need to be consistent, no more 'bombs' like last night against
minnesota please.

go canucks go

canucks looked great tonight, all lines firing on all cylinders. Jeff Tambolini looked so comfortable
with the twins, he is very quick, mentally and physically, and he also got a nice pass from henrik to
send him in all alone for a nice goal.

Cory Schneider looked very solid, and almost came away with a shut out, but with a little over 2 minutes
left in the game, minnesota scored.

Malhotra scored two goals, and was first star.

I saw a familiar look tonight, a canuck team that is beginning to gel, skating was strong, and they
looked very comfortable and in control.

Canucks 5 Minnesota 1

Next game against colorado on tuesday

Vancouver won tonight over Colorado 4 - 3 in overtime. The Canucks had some problems
tonight but they weren't goal tending. Colorado out shot the home team 39 to 29 by the end
of regular time. Mason Raymond got the winner with kind of a poke check when a
Colorado player tried to carry the puck across the front of their own net.
The main thing is that Vancouver managed to win a tight game

The Canucks played a solid game last night beating the New Jersey Devils 3 - 0 despite being outshot
30 to 23. Torres, Kesler, and H. Sedin got the goals, Sedin's on a penalty shot. This is three wins in
a row for the Canucks who had a shaky start this season.

Luongo had a solid game, made some difficult saves. New Jersey will be much stronger when they
get their injured players back.
You're right Talloola. Luongo did make some good saves.

Do you know when Burrows will be practicing with the team? His scoring touch could make Vancouver a bit stronger as well.

he's playing in Edmonton tonight
I thought they were going to walk over Edmonton last night. It was 3 - 0 for the Canucks early in the game but Edmonton
bounced back and tied the score, Torres backhanded a blooper through a big crowd that got by the Edmonton goaltender
to make it 4 - 3 and the Canucks hung on for the win. It was Torres' third goal of the game.

Yeah, that torres hat trick was kind of fluky, but good for him to accomplish it anyway, we needed
those goals, he was playing against his old team and seemed to have more jump than usual.

A bit of a let up late in the game, but have to give edmonton some credit, they werent' happy trailing
and ramped up their game, and caught us a bit flat footed for awhile.

They have lots of fast young players, who are very talented, but many times do not play a full 60
minutes, pretty common for young players.

Off to colorado for a game on thursday.

It's hard to believe Edmonton didn't need a guy like Torres. He was hitting people and getting more than his share of shots on goal.

Torres can be a very frustrating player for coaches, he's been to a few teams now, he's either hot or
very cold, like McTavish said (ex oiler coach)about players like him, 20 goal scorers seem to score in streaks, a few
for a while then cold for a while, then a couple more till they finally reach around 20 for the season.

He has been like that, buffalo picked him up at the trade deadline last season, to help them out going
into playoffs, he didn't score 'one' point for the rest of the year, hence, they let him walk, as a
free agent.

If he can get about 20 goals this season, for a million dollars, he's a good aquisition for canucks.
