I agree with you wulfie. I thought the Pens play was lack lustre and shoddy to say the least. They passed the puck to open ice, missed passes and generally seemed to stand around while the Habs looked like superstars on skates.

The Habs deserve this and I am happy for all you fans.

The Pens had 7 give aways...the Habs had 0.

Just sloppy hockey, yet they still managed 2 goals.

Guerin was a class act, took the time to talk to every Hab at the hand shake.

Not sure if this will be his last year.

The Habs opened the Melon Arena in 1967 with a win and we closed it in the same fashion....another note in the great history of the most storied franchise in hockey.

One thing I noticed was that Montreal was winning most of the little battles for the puck along the boards. The Pens spent a lot of time on their power plays going back to their end to get the puck. Montreal's penalty killing was very effective. Another thing was that Montreal hit a couple posts and a crossbar or two......the point is, that Montreal didn't bury all their scoring chances. The best team won.

The focus is on the Squid (Camallerri) and the the Beet Root (Halak) but let's look at the bit player.

Gill...Moen...Moore..My man Josh Goerges....Subban...Spacek...Pyatt (future Selke trophy winner)....the list goes on.

The only passenger is the CHicken (Pouliot)....even AK46 is working hard.

I have watched the Habs win cups growing up but this team has been the most fun to watch.

You never frickin know what will happen.

Maybe the habs forced that attitude onto them, brought them
to a stand still, they were beaten before they were beaten.

Whatever happened, tallola, the Pens just didn't have any spark, IMHO. I got my hopes up after the two goals they finally scored but the Pens just seemed to back off again.

By the end of the first, I was already thinking that the Habs were going to take the game simply because they played like they wanted it and nothing was going to stop them.... nothing.

That they even scored those two goals came as a suprise to me, Avro.

The Habs were golden and they played like it.

I am truly happy for you and for all the Habs fans.

The Habs were the better team....full stop.

I'd like to thank Criesby for getting that first penalty, started the rout for us. Maybe he can go to the worlds now and help out team Canada, they could use it.

As for the looting....shameful...but those aren't hockey fans...those are opportunists and criminals.

I assume this is the last post we will see from you considering hockey is now over for you.

Ciao, see you next year.

Congratulations, Avro, your team one in a very convincing manner and I am truly happy for you.

That penalty by Sid just gobsmacked me and the goal by Cammalari was simply a given.

As to the rioting which occurred, according to news reports, much later at night, given the size of the celebration and the huge number of people, I highly doubt any true red, white and blue Habs fans were involved. There are always braindead, useless twits whose sole purpose in life is to wreak havoc at any given opportunity. Shame on them but not on Habs fans.

Montreal is celebrating a tremendous victory today and nothing to take away from their joy.

Enjoy the celebraton Avro, the Habs could go all the way and wouldn't that just be fabulous.

It would be fabulous, one thing would have been better,
if canucks and habs could have played each other in the
final, 'priceless'.

Well, all the hope for Canada hang on Montreal. I hope they represent us well for the rest of the playoffs!

Gee Avro, have you ever heard the term "Poor Sportsmanship?"

Even I gave "hats off" to the Habs on winning the final game and you still gotta act childish by tossing out names, attitude and the lamely made photoshop graphics.

Trying to compensate for something?

In regards to the fans who looted and smashed things up... sorry to say, but those are Habs fans, no matter how much you attempt to distance yourself from them and call them criminals. Yes, they are criminals.... but they're still habs fans, because this always happens when people go out to celebrate a win or go out to rage that they lost.

Can't say I've seen many other fans of a Canadian NHL team or even fans of US teams go out and do what happens in Montreal all the time in relation to the Habs.... certainly to the level that Habs fans do anyways. But none of this is to reference anything wrong with the team itself.... just a chunk of their fans.

Then again, it's Quebec and we all know the French have a nack for rioting. ;-)

Oh and you assumed wrong. And... if they truly were the better team by far and without question, why did it take 7 games for them to win? They're good, they can hold their own, but it wasn't a total cake walk for them either. It wasn't for either team.

Either way, congrats on your team winning. Try not to let it go to your head.... oh wait, never mind.

No that is bull****. All those apprehanded were never at the bell center to see the game, they were opertunist. The police were interviewd after the rioting and that was thier observation.
Tho any excuse to bash Quebec is good enough i suppose eh?

Yes I have Prax, that was evident in my first comment after the game. Then you wanted to take it somewhere else by highlighting the few dopes who decided to trash a few stores.

If your gonna act like a poor sport then expect the same.

Congratulations Canadiens.

You guys are now Canada's team. You'd better not fold like the Canucks.

And, I will hate to see what the ignorant montrealers would do, riot wise, if they actually win the next round. I would actually be embarrassed if I was a true montreal fan.

Hope we don't fold like the Sens did ;-).....either way, what they have done so far has been amazing.

Believe me no real fan is proud of what some jackoffs do after a win and it puts a black eye on the city....I travel to Montreal quite a bit, I have a condo and season passes at the Bell and I haven't met anyone ever who will make excuses for these turds.

If we are fortunate enough to win the next round I am hoping to see some sort of backlash by the real fans when they see this crap going on...I think the outrage over it is beginning to build over this nonsense.

Thanks for your support.:canada:

GO HABS GO!

Btw, I have a signed Alfredsson jersey in a display case....pisses off the Leaf fans I know.;-)
