It won't comfort you to know that Nuns beat kids at every school they ever ran. In the school you were in whites were the ones going to heaven so they were exempted more often, their lesson was tow the line as we define it or you will be treated just like the ones being beaten. Today that would be a Court battle and the victim would be richer and the abuser would be handling things in a different way. All these schools were sanctioned by the Federal Gov and the Gov had to know the policy, they may have even demanded special treatment for Native children over the White children. They should be in Court sitting right beside the Pope. Once that may can be shown to be a did the cash should flow twice as fast as long as it doesn't turn into as 20 years bonanza for the Lawyers alone.
Since the time you mentioned the eating thing have you read the verse that says Christians obey the NT and not the OT when it comes to food? The Priest was apparently naive of the verse below also.

Those dietary Laws might still be followed by some Jewish people, the ones they were given to. The Laws that were carried over are the 10 Royal Laws alone. There is only the 10.
Would you have felt envy that the Priest knew less about OT Law than you did, yet he was regarded as being the one favored by God, as far as status in the White community.
The 'other' school system also had the 'strap' so it was not punishment free by any means and óffice'was the word used rather than 'hell', that was saved for Sunday school. The segregation was based on the larger/smaller factor mostly.

Why are the Christians that are out doing things that are nor defined by some specific verse a;ways still labeled as Christians an that indicates the Bible promotes some behaviors when it actually says the opposite, quite plainly in most cases.
Once you have decided this one has filled it's mission are you going to start one on the Jews and then one on the Muslims, and so on or is this thread about a Bear got a thorn in his paw and he needs some assistance in getting it removed.
For my part anything I say is going to be rejected so I'll be brief, yes the Bible does have a place called and the odds of anybody going there that is not part of the sword of the Nations at the time of Christ's return will not be going to hell. Since they still do not qualify for life in the 1,000 years they are asleep for that same period of time. Anything else promoted is not going to be supported by Scripture.
You say the Church made you confrontational, what were you like before they go hold of you, confrontational or passive? There's a time those traits are the most appropriate reaction to a certain social situation. Take the shell fish example, why did you bring it up with the Priest, didn't like him or was it a way to strike back at the Nuns.

When some institution is being bashed the quality of the person doing the bashing is part of the topic, you do it in every thread you post on. To bash Christianity you first need a verse saying they are following the instructions given in the NT.
Lurking is hiding, God left a Book to show He wasn't hiding anything. Moral of the story is kill the lion and let the bear eat him and stay out of other people's houses unless they invite you in.

I once had to tell the Minister that I took the $1 for the collection plate and went down to the bus-depot to spend on the reasoningb that if i spent 6 days a week with them I might as well spend the 7 th day there also, even if I was wearing shoes that shone. That is where the resentment came in, he didn't bother to ask where my mother and father were in that I was the only one from the family headed in the direction of the Church that morning but I got questioned from 3 sides about the $1. A separate thread to bash Christians? Where is the fun in that? I like to bash them whenever they sanctimoniously, self righteously quote the Bible in support of their viewpoint.
Besides, I also like to bash other religions. I have bashed Hinduism and Islam here as well. Where are separate threads for them?
