Unless you talk to Walter. He doesn't seem to think the world is any warmer than any other time in history. lolI think that the "scam" part relates to the push by some groups to profit from the confusion.
I admit it's of passing interest to me, too, but not as much as curtailing our harmful activities just because they are harmful. Like oil, for instance. IMO, it was better left in the ground. It's caused an awful lot of grief for both humans and the planet.Relative to the remainder of what you suggest - I also agree with what you have stated, including the notion that humanity kicks-into the equation from everything to respiring CO2 to the use of gasoline, nuclear experimentation (ie blasts), etc.. All of these things, among many many examples of how humanity contributes some input into the system, the question in my mind is if these inputs are large enough to significantly influence something like climate.
Me either. We're still learning. We may never know all that is involved concerning climate. Flat out stating that the planet hasn't warmed or that we haven't had anything to do with it is just plain ignorant and presumptuous, though. As you pointed-out, the variables like solar input and those terrestrial factors relating to naturally occurring systems also play an important role.
I certainly do not have the answers and quite honestly believe that no one does at this point in time.
