NDP Wants The Democrats As Their New Name

http://www.660news.com/news/local/more.jsp?content=20090816_011105_5216

Jack Layton wants a name change to reflect their new party and what better way to do this is to copy the American Democrats whose logo has a jack a$$.

Democrats are not as socialistic as the NDP so this means that they are doing what the Reform did when they merged with the PC and scooped up the Conservative party name.

I respect Jack Layton as a person but some of his ideas you have to wonder about.

When Canada has their next election it will be the Democrats, Conservatives, Liberals and maybe the Greens

No they don't want that name. They changed their minds and are keeping it as the NDP and they did that yesterday.

This idea of dropping the 'New' is so typical of the washed out, slippery, amorphous quality that the NDP has become.

If they had any backbone at all, they'd label themselves with the name they should have taken in the first place .. 'Social Democrats' which would lock them into an economic agenda of representing working people, and working families, against the the increasingly out of control chaos of Free Market Capitalism.

Even its previous name of 'Commonwealth' or 'Co-operative' would have been better. But all they can come up with though is to drop the 'New' making their image even more indistinct.

Instead they have re-affirmed the utterly insipid and meaningless name of 'New' and have incorporated every aspect of 'New Age', post structural social dissolution at the forefront of their agenda.

They are champions of abortion, euthenasia, homosexuality, radical environmental paganism, extreme feminism in its most corrosive anti-family guise. They are rank advocates of a Culture of Death. And they will never form a government, and Lord help us if they ever do. They are quite hopeless.

My guess is they shouldn't count on the closed-minded vote, eh?
