I second that and add...I was thinking more of things like astrology, palmistry, talking to the dead, but yeah, I'll buy your list too.
Wrong, he meant that print media of the time lied...plain and simple. MSM is shyte, again plain and simple. Fox is one of the worst broadcast news groups there is. They find themselves in the company of the Guardian in the UK and the National Post in Canada. The broadcast half truths and omit whole parts of stories, just to pander to their bread and butter demographic. Like all MSM does.Being misinformed means that you are open minded to a different opinion.
That's right, I'm not. That's because I avoid MSM like the plague.Being uninformed means that you are ignorant and you are NOT.
This is true, but the same principal applies to broadcast media as well as print media. Demographics are what drives their style of news. Long dead are the truly objective journalists. They buy their content now. And, no fault of his own, Mark Twain had no idea about television.
If you disagree with me, you are an idiot.
I agree, 100%, lol.Would it kill journalists to cite their sources?
Yes. I think it would.
I do watch Fox News, but not to be informed YJ. I watch it for a good laugh. As I read three Toronto daily's, I watch several news sources, when I feel like it, which isn't often. I find it sometimes gives you a more balanced view of the news, but it surely isn't the news as it was when it was happening.CDNBear, if I had been you, with such strong opinions, I would have prefaced my comment: "I watch FOXNews, and I find it "is one of the worst broadcast news groups there is".
Of course YJ, I'm just like everybody else...:roll:But since you did not, you are just like all the others who bad mouth FNC, without the slightest clue what the heck they are talking about.
I appreciate your conceding and apologies, thanx.CDNBear, sometimes we assume too much. In your case, I admit, I did. I believe you, when you claim that you watch FOXNews Network.
Because I've actually seen them misquote, take out of context and chop news to suit their ideology. This isn't a myth, this is just one such fact...But still can not understand why you think FNC is so bad, or why is it worse and/or less reliable than other news sources. I am not talking about OPINIONS. I readily admit that when it comes to opinions, FNC is just about as right wing as CNN or CBS or ABC or NBC or CBC are left wing.
But just giving the news, there is no reason to say that FNC is only good for a laugh.
No.Dexter Sinister, do you even subscribe to FNC?
There's no need to shout, but no, I am not one. I make a point of being very well informed and get news and information from multiple sources, Fox just isn't one of them. I don't pay much attention to U.S. news sources generally, you can't find out about much of anything except the U.S. from them. And note that I didn't bash Fox News, I have no opinion at all on it, I merely pointed out the obvious, that just because a lot of people watch it doesn't mean it's any good. Popularity is not a criterion of quality. So, if liberals want to be half-informed, that is their choice. Some on this forum are prime example. ARE YOU ONE??
I agree. Hence my contempt for all MSM.Of course, CNN, ABC, CBS, CBC, MSNBS never formulated news to their own version of "truth in reporting". They all do, and FOX is no different.
That's because you watch Faux news.I never heard of this case or either or the two you mention.
I bet you did.Sorry, but I lost you somewhere along the way.
I know you haven't, I was remarking on the hypothetical, and in retort to your inference that I was like the rest of the meat heads around here that buy what their chosen news source says, without question.CDNBear, have you ever stopped to think that I never called you a "nut job"?
Did I actually call you a name YJ? I find your indignation puzzling, especially since your a staunch supporter of 'suck it up', when it comes to descriptive stereotypes of other races...;-)Has it ever occurred to you to be polite and fair and refrain from name-calling?
