I don’t think Kim Campbell was all that seasoned (the fact that she was willing to run for the post of PC leader, was willing to stand in as a sacrificial lamb for Mulroney shows that she didn’t really have much political savvy).

She wasn't willing to be a sacrificial lamb for Mulroney. The Conservatives believed they could win the 93 election. They were perhaps on their way until the infamous "an election is no time to discuss serious issues" comment. Of course, that isn't really what she said but that's not really relevant. Kim was competent and capable and probably would have been re-elected had the media not twisted what she said.

So I assumed that what darkbeaver was saying was that Hillary could be a Prime Minister of Canada. But I could be wrong.

I assume you are wrong.

Age did not hinder any well seasoned female. They became PM of Isreal. PM of England. Chancellor of Germany. Mayor of Mississauga.
Quoting darkbeaver
Prime Minister of Canada.

Maybe so, karrie. But Yukon is referring to seasoned females, I don’t think Kim Campbell was all that seasoned (the fact that she was willing to run for the post of PC leader, was willing to stand in as a sacrificial lamb for Mulroney shows that she didn’t really have much political savvy).

Hate to quote myself, but:

She can be the FIRST lady of the Pear-Growers' Association and the Cable Guys' Union.

Perfect shape and perfect naked arms. Photography never went far enough. Probably rear end similar to Larry's. But not as shapely.

"lol For all we know, you may the same shape as she is, YJ."

Just goes to show how much you know, L Gilbert.

I am 5'11", and weigh 195 pounds.

Draw your own conclusions.

"Really Yukon Jack? Could stand to lose a few pounds, couldn’t you? "

Well, yes, I could. According to several charts, the ideal body weight for me would be about 189 lbs.

So, I am about six pounds "overweight".

If your avatar is the faithful image of your appearence, (the only alternative is that it is the image of your overbloated EGO) you have a hell of a lot more to work on than I do.

And seeing all the pictures of her, so does Michelle Obama.

So you say. Maybe your a$$ is the one like Larry's but not as shapely. lol

BTW, your BMI is more important than the height vs. weight charts. It is a better indication of your fat content.

Michelle Obama is a size 12 and is 5′ 10¾", wears a size 12, which makes her less hefty than the average American woman (5'4" and 142). I bet she's about 150.
My wife is 5'11, weighs in the neighborhood of about 135 and has a BMI of about 15%, which is classed as athlete.

BTW, she seems to more of a lady than you a man. She has grace and humor, you don't.

Yukon Jack, my avatar looks nothing like me; it is just a picture of an actor playing the role of Sir Joseph Porter that I found on internet.

Now, that may possibly represent my ego, but no way it represents my body.

Sorry, SirJosephPorter, your avatar is obviously and falsely is far too skinny compared to your ego. AND more importantly, to your actual physical appearence.

Um, I haven't read the whole thread, but why do people here assume that 'Third World Women' need a foreign role model in the first place?

Most of the people posting to this thread do not assume that third world women need to look to Michele Obama for any form of inspiration... That was a remark made by one individual here, not everyone.

You are absolutely right, Amatullaah!

They don't and you don't need to waste your time.

Only a sanctimonious and patronizing racist would think that third world women have any reason to look up to Mrs. Obama.

Ok; sorry if I misunderstood anyone. I was simply questioning the premise of this topic. But I agree with YukonJack about the sanctimony and patronization inherent in the idea of this thread.

If you are questioning the premise of the topic, read the original article on CNN. I posted the link when I posted the thread. I just checked it, the link still works.

So if you don’t think that Michelle acts as an inspiration to third world women, take it up with CNN. Personally, I have no problem believing CNN, it is a highly reputable, highly respectable, reliable network, it is watched all over the world. If CNN says that Obama inspires many third world women, I for one have no problem believing CNN.

If you want to think that CNN are a bunch of liars, that is your privilege (I assume being a Muslim, you think that Al Jazeera or Al Arabia are the only reliable sources of news). But you may wish to at least read the article before you decide that CNN are a bunch of liars.
