Good to hear. How do they stand up to Government /Big business..Are these boards effective?..How busy are they?...
Need the unions or some non for profit business to satnd up for the abused...Perhaps people need to start standing up for themselves instead of relying on unions and other self-interested organizations, who apparently ,are proving useless..Perhaps we should USE LESS of these organizations ..Make our own program..If that would be legal..
Interesting that you should say that. Here is a comment on the subject to the editor at TheTorontoStar:

Even the Government is using the "Hidden job market " to find slave drone/temp workers..People deserve good paying ,long term, secure employment..
Green/clean tech jobs are needed...
Time to stop the abuse..Government employment Programs don't work ..Government money traps

Not sure about other provinces, but BC has an outfit called the "Labor Relations Board" They have teeth and don't like nasty employers.
If you work for a car company ..you should be able to buy a car...If you work as a house cleaner..Would be nice to have a place to live...Someone had a dream once..Called it the american dream..What ever happened to that?..Goin back to the slave system..Work for nothing and like it..
Unions don't promote unity. They promote division between workers and management. Roberto Semler's co-operative model is far superior. He'd won an entrepreneur of the year award from both the Brazilian Communist Party and a Brazilian business magazine, in the same year!People who unite and stand up for a common cause are a union, through all these years the battle to crush unions has tried to pervert the meaning of unions of community of purpose. If you do not unite you will face every hurdle alone and be easily crushed quietly and no one will hear you.
No. You should be able to buy your own spaceship. So if you work for NASA, you should get your very own space ship?
I apologize for introducing the concept of "union" to the thread. Same for "Labor Relations Board".
But, if I were an illegal alien and pissed off at an employer, I think I'd raise a ruckus with the gov't about it because it'd eventually hit the wind anyway, and my chances of staying in the country may be better if I was the one that brought the matter to the attention of the right people.

I said "even if". Perhaps you missed the little two-letter word.Illegal alien?
Now that's a whole other can of worms. If he's illegal, then he's just as guilty as the employer. I was thinking the whole time of foreigners on work visas. Big difference.
