Yes, you are right, I shouldn't be raining on the dreams of others.
It's not about raining on others dreams. There are lots of places around here raining on dreams, and everyone is free to start their own topics. But here post one starts a topic. Post 2 starts a different topic. It would be nice to have a topic stick for awhile.

Yeah, L gilberts comment got me thinkin- I wonder WHAT it will look like, Harper standing next to a not-totally-white guy. I have seen some pics of Harper lately where he looks transparent, almost undead kinda. I would hate to be working camera or lighting on this one, the levels are gonna be a pain in the butt to get looking even a bit respectable

A) do we need him to come here? No.
B) in these economic times, can we afford him to come here? No.
If we can afford throwing away billions on a war that doesn't concern us, we certainly can afford a couple of thousand to peacefully entertain our neighbor! That's how I see it... important PR, Stretch!!;-)

Not on live tv, DL. lol
No, not live TV, but live conversation from people who had a live TV. I remember it clearly: A retired dairy man came from Germany to visit his son in TO. Both came to our farm the next day and the old man showed us how to make our own cheese!! Because they had been up late watching, the old man was tired and he had a nap on our couch.
Now tell me, why can that not be true? Perhaps they had only listened on the radio?

I don't mind being teased, but I still do remember the event, because of the talk going on in our kitchen.
Where is the flaw in my memory?

All I can say is "WOW"!! Congrats, so far. *Hugs*
Thanks, Gilbert... you are a sweetheart!
I took a quick walk down memory lane to point out certain highlights of my lifetime. Obama's election is the most recent one of those highlights. I'm glad to be still around to see him in operation... to maybe see a more peaceful world emerging.

The PM (Still Harper, help me out here?) spared no expense and bought some roses for the first lady.

I don't agree. A real handshake and look in the eyes can not be replaced by electronics.
As I said, get rid of that war and there will be money left over after serving tea and cookies with cream even!

Oh... is it her birthday? Or their wedding anniversary? Besides, how do you know? Which first lady do you mean? His or Obamas??:lol:

Obama's wife. In Canada, the prime minister's wife is not the "first lady," she's the "prime mistress"!
It's a gift for the one-month anniversary of Obama's presidency. Harper may be many things, but at least he's romantically calendar conscious! What a pro-rogue!

Ah, so that's the "raison du jour." I've heard so many different reasons (God bless politicians and our free Press), I get really confused why were in the Big A. I should write the reasons down; would save the old hemispheres!

I know! It is their war, and because we are their ally, we are there as well. But there is no law that says we can't change our mind and leave. Problem is, the Canadian people haven't started to demand it. We are not quite up against the wall yet... it has to get worse at home first. My lone voice disappears in the wind.:-(
