Sys Requirements for counter-strike

I use Dual Core Processor of 1.6GHz, 512MB RAM, Intel(R) 82945G Express graphics with 256MB. But still, I having low fps like 15 or 16. I already set all the graphic details to low, off and resolution to 640x480, but still I having problems. Whats the main problem here?

If this is still in reference to Counter-Strike Original or any other Half-Life 1 Mod, it is probably to do with the video card as well. Check my suggestions above in regards to switching from OpenGL to Direct3D or vice versa.

The most common issue is because someone's system is setup to one of the above that their system doesn't support. In the past, OpenGL was the best option to solve just about all the graphics issues. With the specs you listed for your system, there shouldn't be any issues besides the video. Either try and update your drivers, switch to one of the options as described above. If none of those work, then the only suggestion I can make is to invest in a better video card, be that PCI, AGP, PCIe (Whatever your system can support)

But for those with older systems that don't have PCIe slots, you best rush out there and dig around looking for anything PCI or AGP, as they have been discontinued by many main companies and even I have found it hard to find just one PCI video card here in the city for my friend. Everything is moving into PCIe.

Also, make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card by checking out the web site of the company that makes your card and see what they have for updates..... this also clears up a lot of big issues.

I did, but found nothing. My graphics card support DirectX 10, Pixel Shader 2.0, Vertex Shader 1.0. High stragedy games like Rise OF LEGends, Age of Empire 3, Devil May Cry 4, Prince Of Persia 3 runs smoothly on my pc.
OH!!! 1 thing. Are Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source is same?

:twisted: He he... I got a QuadCore and it works just fine for me..... although I couldn't stand the controls of the game so I removed it and never tried it again.

DUDE!!! COOL!!! I liked this game, it runs on my pc, but slow. So I deleted it later on.

Bro, then next time say so. This topic started about CS the first one, not the second, if you don't state otherwise, then how the hell am I supposed to know?

I have Half-Life 2 and a few mods for it, but once again I don't play CS or CS source all that often cuz I really don't like it.

but since they all use the same game engine (The new ones that is) then solutions should remain the same.

For CS:Source, I would suggest more RAM to about 1 gig at least. Depending on if you're running XP or Vista, chances are a good chunk of your RAM is being taken up by the OS, leaving not much for your game. Now although your video card has 256MB of RAM, everything I am finding on the internet in regards to your paticular video card sez it's the problem.

On Board graphics isn't the best, no matter how much RAM it has, because it does get shared by the computer from time to time, and some reports I have seen elsewhere says that only about 1/4 of that RAM is actually dedicated to game video graphics.

Everything I see says you need to get a dedicated video card, such as an AGP or PCIe, depending on your system.

So until you do, you will have these problems.
