RE: US fire on Freed Repo

The big question is, "Who has something to hide here?"

That's been the question every time the US military has killed a reporter in Iraq and the answer is clearly the US military. They hamper any attempt at investigation, "lose" evidence or claim that it is a matter of national security, and come with flimsy nonsensical stories.

Then guys like Paco, who seem to get all of their information by watching Fox while sucking on a crack pipe, get angry when anybody dares to ask a question.

Why is the U.S. free from investigations? They are clearly commeting war crimes and getting away with it. American media is at it's worst right now, afraid to ask the tough questions. If your a free country you need dissent. If not, you become a police state. All the news media in the States are bias, afraid of being branded "liberal" like it's a bad word.

The press problem in the US is brutal. You should read some Chomsky, Gonzo...he describes the problem pretty well.

The US will be investigated eventually. As we've seen with the arrest of Pinochet, there is no statute of limitations on war crimes. It's why the Bush administration is so opposed to the International Criminal Court.

The story grows.

Two Italian newspapers say that the general in charge of the Sgrena operation did not inform the US that Calipari's mission was to free Sgrena, and one of them reports that General Mario Maroli didn't even know it himself.

Your government just killed another journalist who wouldn;t write what they wanted.

This bullshit argument that the US targeted a communist journalist just doesn’t fly. They didn’t even know she was freed. Seems the Italians were keeping that to themselves, probably because they were paying a ransom to free the communist, but that doesn’t matter. The point is, American military forces did not deliberately attack or ambush the communist because they didn’t know she was in the car.

Further, her story changes (almost every other day).

"It's not true that they shot into the engine," she told Corriere della Sera, adding that the shooting came "from the right and from behind."

Yeah. American forces were trained by the French. They surround their targets so that when they open fire, they risk hitting their own.

This women is stupid. First she went to Iraq thinking the terrorists would welcome her because she would write only news that favored the terrorists. Then she is captured and taken prisoner. Why? Because the Italians pay money to get their hostages back. But that seems to have been lost on the communist journalist.

Then she tells stories of “raining bullets” and “tanks” and “picking up bullets by the handful.” And for the destructive force she describes, one man died of a single shot to the temple and very little damage is noted to the vehicle.

She’s stupid alright. But I am being redundant. She’s a communist.

This has a lot to do with it. The decision to go into Iraq was never popular there, but this made it politically untenable.

How long before the US needs the draft? How long before the choppers take off from the embassy roof?

Well it isn't like they could have known the car would be an important piece of evidence. Oh, wait...a monkey would have known the car was an important piece of evidence. No why would they "lose" something like that?
