I will tell you this. John and Robert Kennedy were public servants. They did not go along to get along. John Kennedy was one of only two presidents who donated their entire salary to charity. I feel that those two men stood for what was right. And they were killed because of it.

The Republicans are the party of wealth and power. The Democrats are a self-defined liberal intelligentsia that believes it understands things it doesn't but couldn't possibly be wrong. Neither tent has room for the great majority of American voters. Trump has done as well as he has because he breaks the mold and speaks to that angry, frustrated, and disenfranchised group that neither party represents. He's not stupid, but he's dangerously ignorant, and he knows what the stupid and ill informed want to hear. His constituency is the dumbest, most ignorant. and frightened, third of voters. That's the core support of the extreme right in every democracy.
