If the UNESCO is great for protecting the Aqsa mosque, why then were other sites protected by UNESCO decimated? These were historical sites, the history of the Middle East, ISLAMIC peoples. And yet ISIS and other extremists have destroyed such sites because of foolish ideas that they promote idolatry. Which they didn't, as the worship of those figures was ended hundreds of years ago.

In actuality it's likely they were destroyed so they could be taken and sold off for money.

I agree with the history remnants as historical relics.
