LOL Karrie.

What you mean to say is that they wanted to prevent a Separtist Party from taking the reins. Where is Grain when I need him? LOL.

I'll be back in AB in a few weeks.

I tried to bait grain out during this election. Alas, he never heard me. lol.

Give me a call when you're passing through.

Ouch for the Wildrose.

Everyone was predicting they would win a healthy majority.

Looking at the numbers, they lost a lot of extremely close races.

PC
Percentage: 43.98%
Ridings: 62 (Majority victory)

Wildrose
Percentage: 34.51%
Ridings: 17

Democracy?

Yep.

It is called First Past the Post, in which each riding gets to elect a representative, he with the most votes wins.

Flawed??/

Oh yes.

But still democracy, and the results are legitimate....

Until we agree on a different system.

"Alberta needs better government, and it’s hard to picture a 41-year-old dynasty remaking itself, especially after whupping the first serious challenger it’s ever faced. "

I found this a frustrating bit within your article. The PC essentially split into two... the centrists stayed PC, and the far right reformed into the WR. So how can it be hard to see a 41 year dynasty remaking itself? You just did! It's the only reason they won the election. And I can guarantee they're just as schocked and relieved as the rest of the province, and hopefully will work a little harder to hold onto what they won by a hair.

I just posted it because I know Colpy loves Mcparland and went for Wild rose - and the article appeared to have a slant in their favour.
